LOCATION:
Conveniently situated just outside the city centre of Launceston with easy access to the city.
STAFF:
Very friendly and polite. He went out of his way to show us a couple of rooms style to choose for our stay.
PROPERTY:
The property is large enough with plenty of rooms and enough car parking onsite. There is also a restaurant onsite but we didn't have time to try the meals here.
OUR ROOM:
The rooms are incredibly large and looked newly furbished. They have more than you need with a large bed, dinning area and lounge. Large bathroom and a FULLY equiped kitchen with microwave, fridge, hot plates and even a full oven. There is a complete range of cooking utensils including pots and pans.
PRICING:
Pricing is also very good as our room only cost $95 for the night. You can't beat this price with the size of the room and what it has.
LAST WORDS:
We would easily stay here again with huge rooms, very comfortable beds and a fully equiped kitchen. The pricing just adds to this great motel with a great location.

Approximate cost: $95

ATMOSPHERE/LOCATION:
Location is very handy, on the main road into town. It is built into an old service station, but completely redone with very modern and funky decor, and seating available inside and out. It's just across the road from a cricket oval and has views across to the harbour.

SERVICE/STAFF:
There was only one girl serving but even with a bus load she managed it quite efficiently, quicker than we had anticipated.

FOOD/PRICING:
For specialty hot chocolates, the prices were reasonable at $5 for a large cup, and our Italian dark chocolate was a lovely 'real' flavour. There is a small range of toasties and sweets available for normal pricing, but we did feel the biscuits at $4 each was a little expensive.

LAST WORDS:
We'd happily stop in again and would recommend the dark hot chocolate.

Approximate cost: $5

ATMOSPHERE/LOCATION:
The restaurant is just behind Main Street, accessible either through alleyways or you can park in the main carpark right nearby. Very convenient to all the local shops. There is only inside seating, but there was enough of it and we were very comfortable and warm on a cool day.

SERVICE/STAFF:
Service was very prompt and extremely friendly, and even the chef herself was happy to chat at the end. Food was brought out promptly.

FOOD/PRICING:
We ordered the Cashew Nut Chicken lunch special, which came with rice for $12.90. This was great value, the serving size was very generous, and there was plenty of chicken and cashews in the dish. The chicken was cooked differently to many other Thai places, in that it had a crispier coating on the outside but very tender inside, so it was a very good different and we really enjoyed it.
As well as the traditional green tea hot drinks, they also serve fresh hot coffee and hot chocolate which was a nice surprise.
Spring rolls and other appetisers were very reasonably priced.

LAST WORDS:
Couldn't fault anything, and would definitely like to try some appetisers on our next visit.

Approximate cost: $12.9

This review is for Nutpatch Nougat, Kettering TAS

verified email - 09 Sep 2017

We heard about Nutpatch while doing a full day Bruny Island day tour, so thought we'd stop in here in our own time to see whether it lived up to the talk. And it absolutely did!

ATMOSPHERE/LOCATION:
The shop is not huge but definitely has more than enough chocolates and flavours for everybody. Some are in very funky designs like iPod Shuffles and Noughts-and-Crosses, and some great gift packs. It's very handy, on the main road coming into Kettering (in what looks like an old Servo station that now has a fabulous coffee shop) and there's plenty of parking onsite. It's very unassuming, but don't be fooled, as inside are some of the most fabulous treats.

SERVICE/STAFF:
A very friendly lady served up, she was helpful with what flavours we might like.

FOOD/PRICING:
The smaller chocolates are $2 each (which is a good price after visiting some other boutique chocolate places around Hobart), and you can have them gift boxed in sets of 4, 8 or 16. Some of these flavours are absolutely exquisite, there is nothing standard about them at all, and you really appreciate the artistry and work behind the scenes. We can highly recommend the florentine - so much flavour, absolutely superb.

LAST WORDS:
If you get the chance, make sure you stop. If you haven't been here yet, just go. Seriously. If you like chocolate, and want to eat some where the maker has really put some soul and love into them, then here is where you want to go.

Approximate cost: $3.00

This review is for Richardson's Bistro, Freycinet TAS

verified email - 09 Sep 2017

Richardson's Bistro is located inside Freycinet Lodge. Located downstairs from reception next to the restaurant with outdoor seating as well. The atmosphere is just like being in a big modern barn with exposed beams and fire places. The view is awesome of the bay and you can just sit back with a drink and forget where you are. The Bistro menu caters for all tastes and is priced accordingly.
We had the soup of the day with bread ($12) and the Char-grilled vegetable linguine ($24) which was huge and absolutely loaded with vegetables.
We would definitely come back just to relax with a drink or even for another meal.
Highly recommended.

We were staying onsite at the Motor Inn and thought we'd try here for dinner. The outlook to the outside pool and seating area was nice, the palm trees were lit up at night, and inside the tables weren't crowded together, it was warmly lit and very comfortable. The prices are normal restaurant prices, as it is a restaurant. You don't come here expecting a cheap cafe meal. It's a great place for larger groups and functions, as there is plenty of room, and the bar is very well equipped with a nice bar seating for pre-dinner drinks.
We ordered the Garlic Turkish Bread and Pea, Mint & Basil Arancini Cakes as starters. Both were delicious, very fresh, and good portion sizes. The Cakes are a great vegetarian option.
For mains we ordered the Zucchini, Haloumi & Mint Fritters, w/Quinoa, Tomato & Mint Salad and the 1824 Char-grilled Scotch Fillet. The fritters dish was huge, and after starters there was just no way we could finish it, so credit for the great portion size. The dish was light and the salad very fresh, the flavour did get quite strong towards the end, and would probably make another great starter dish as a smaller portion. The Fillet was cooked as requested, a great dish at usual restaurant prices.
For dessert we both shared the Sticky Date Pudding with Icecream, and we struggled through this just because of the amount of food we'd already eaten. It was fresh, soft, and definitely seemed homemade.
We really enjoyed our meal here. It was quiet, relaxing, staff were friendly, we weren't rushed and could just sit back and enjoy the good food.

The motel is quite large, plenty of rooms, and set over a few levels, with the upper levels easily accessible by stairs or a wheelchair ramp, and looks down over the pool towards the onsite restaurant (which we definitely recommend). There are a variety of room styles, including their Deluxe King Spa which has its own balcony, and a disabled access room. We stayed in the Queen Spa Room. Undercover parking is available at the property, and there is plenty of space to park by reception when you check in.

OUR ROOM/INCLUSIONS/PRICING
We stayed in the Queen Spa room, and were extremely comfortable in the very soft and super thick pillowtop bed. The room was spacious, with plenty of room for the table and chairs which made meals very comfortable, as well as luggage space and a decent size work bench which we always use. The bathroom was roomy, and even though it was an open shower above the spa bath, it was a very large bath and we were pleasantly surprised that no water spilled out. Small steps led up to the spa bath so it was easily accessible with no large 'climb-over' needed. Plenty of towels and decent toiletries were provided, and enough bench space for your own toiletry bag, makeup, etc.

LOCATION/ATMOSPHERE
The motel is close by town, so we could walk to local cafes, IGA, etc., and it's only a short drive to nearby touristy spots like the Gaol and Smoky Cape Lighthouse. We found it very quiet at night, no road noise or other disturbances, and a really nice atmosphere at night with the palm trees lit up by the pool.

SERVICE/STAFF
Service and staff in both the motel and restaurant was wonderful, very prompt and happy to answer any questions we had and recommend local places to visit.

SUITABILITY
The motel is suitable for any kind of travellers really, as there are a variety of room types to cover couples, families, business travellers, etc.

FINAL THOUGHTS
We would definitely recommend it and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

This review is for The Bower At Broulee, Broulee NSW

We were heading south and needed somewhere for a couple of nights to just relax in peace and quiet, and we could not have asked for a better place. It's marketed as "Recharge together in style" and that's exactly what it does.

THE PROPERTY/FACILITIES
We explored just a little bit of the property during our stay, including down by what we call the 'Wedding Pond' which is perfect for weddings obviously or other group gatherings, but if you're keen on a walk and want to see some wildlife, there are plenty of walking tracks. We could help ourselves to the large firewood stack, and the reception area has some books and DVDs if you feel so inclined, but it's really not the sort of place you come to connect to technology at all. Everything about it screams relaxation, romance and rejuvenation. You won't be bothered by room service during your stay, the property is designed for you to check in, receive the information you need, and then go away in privacy to enjoy your stay. There are multiple cabins on the property, but they are situated so that you have total privacy, and it felt like we were the only ones around during our stay. If you feel inclined to leave your spa haven, the beach is nearby, as are restaurants, but we figure - why would you want to leave? Wifi is available if needed, but we'd recommend it for basic things like checking emails, show off some photos on Facebook, and that's it.

OUR CABIN
We stayed in the 2BR Bower Cabin (you can forget that there's a second bedroom really, as you really don't want to share in such a romantic place like this anyway), which was fully equipped with everything you need and want to have an extended stay, including full kitchen, decent size fridge, full laundry facilities (something we always appreciate when we travel!), plenty of lounge space, outdoor seating, and of course the divine spa that looks out to the bush and wood fireplace in the lounge area (make sure you bring some bubble bath, you just won't want to leave the tub). There's even bathrobes, slippers, chocolates on the pillow, and a delicious breakfast pack ready for whenever you feel like waking up to the day. We really appreciated the small things like the coffee pod machine (with plenty of capsules) and T2 teabags. The underfloor heating in the bathroom and toilet was wonderful, especially in the middle of the night. The biggest standout point that you can't get in very many places is an open air shower. It was so lovely to stand outside with crisp air and nature all around, but be under a steaming hot shower. So unique to the property, and the position is well thought out with privacy, we loved it.

LOCATION/ATMOSPHERE
It is not far from anything that you might need like shops, beach, tours attractions at Mogo and Batemans Bay, but we'd recommend you come here to make the most of the peace and seclusion that the cabins offer. The surrounding bush and wildlife is too relaxing, if you're like us, then you just won't want to leave.

SERVICE/STAFF
Mark and Sue were lovely, so welcoming and just wonderful hosts.

SUITABILITY
Definitely the perfect place for couples to come and have a romantic break, honeymoon, babymoon, anniversary, birthdays, etc.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Would we return? In a heartbeat. It is up there with one of the best places we have stayed in all our travels, so relaxing and so well-thought out in terms of the privacy and inclusions in the cabins. Thank you for a wonderful stay, we couldn't recommend it enough. If you haven't been yet, just go, you won't regret it.

The menu has a variety of options to suit various palates, and vegetarians are fairly well catered for. It's nice comfortable dining (inside or out), and was comfortably warm on a cool day. Service was friendly. Meals were much more reasonably priced than other places in the area. Decor was modern and fresh, and the sweets looked delicious but we only ordered mains this time around. The hot tea range was quite nice (recommend the honeydew green).

It's unlike any Bakery we've ever been too. No menu boards or pricing, but the variety is just so wide and so unique. There were so many people you have to take a ticket to get served, but seriously worth it. The scrolls are divine, and choc mint biscuits -amazing.

Approximate cost: $18
