This review is for Ruckers Hill Cafe, Northcote VIC

On a Sunday afternoon for lunch, it was either Penny Farthing or Ruckers Hill both within 30 seconds walking distance between each other. I was not bothered with either as I'd heard good reviews about both. However, Penny Farthing was brimming with customers, with no seats left for us. So Ruckers Hill it was. I like the simple yet wholesome menu. I was in the mood for Vegetarian option, as I usually am. My friend ordered eggs and salmon. The presentation of both was impressive, especially the eggs which came out looking like two ice cream scoops on top of his salmon and bread. As for mine, my friend said that it looked like 'dinner, which it did indeed, as the vegetables were served in a cute little hotpot style. The combination of polenta with vegetables felt so healthy to eat. Coffee was superb too. I would definitely come here again

Coffee is of great quality here, as is the food. Much like other good quality cafes, nothing that stands out from the others, but one that you can depend on for a scrumptious meal around on High Street in Thornbury. Service is warm and attentive

Definitely a wow. Bought a blueberry cheesecake here for half the price you would normally pay at a cafe but of the same quality. It was delicious!

I was initially only searching for a place to grab a coffee, but was enticed by the mouthwatering yoghurt pictures on the menu up on the boards. I read that they were organic, and being quite health conscious, I thought it would be worth getting on top of the fact I did have a sweet tooth. I ordered a small tub, and was able to pick two flavours. I could also pick toppings, although it was an extra charge. I felt it was a bit on the pricey side, but then the small serving is actually quite large, and I guess with it being organic also explains the price. While enjoying my yoghurt, I noticed they had some quite interesting breakfast items such as waffles available to order as takeaway too, which I would be interested to try at some stage.

Was just strolling down Crown Street with a friend trying to find a nice place to catchup over lunch. This place caught our eye because of the outdoor seating, with it being a very nice day. They had a nice selection of foods. I ordered a vegetarian wrap, which was nice. Everything was good here.

Came here on afternoon around 4.30pm and even then, during a relatively quiet period, the food was fresh, hot and delicious. Service was quick, delivery of food also quick. Can't fault it anywhere at all. Reliable place to have a tasty, authentic Chinese meal!

Came here on a Saturday night with a friend. Very trendy. The menu is very comprehensive, including sushi. The only disappointment was that the fish we wanted was not available. The food was divine. You will not be disappointed. Your tastebuds will be having a party each time you take a bite of their food. I had eggplant in a way I never imagined you could have it. Out of the things we ordered, the only one I wouldn't order again, would be the duck, especially as I am accustomed to the Chinese style of duck. My friend ordered it, but it is not something I would have ordered from a Japanese restaurant.

Just had a one night stay here for the Blackmores Sydney Marathon event the next day. The rooms were neat and clean. Bathroom which was shared between us females was also reasonably clean.

Came to get takeaway for the first time. Service was great. Ordered a vegetarian curry and naan bread. Both were delicious, although only 2 pieces per serve. If I knew it was only 2 pieces, I would have got 2 serves, as they were quite thin pieces.

Friend introduced me to this place. Everything is fabulous. The only thing I would suggest is if the menu could have a description and more detail about how the item is served, eg. pizza, or roll, as the names of each item are quite exotic.

Highly recommend the falafel if you normally a falafel fan. Very impressed. Very friendly service also!
