I took my 4WD into Mideast today for an aircon regas. Chris and Dominic were able to fit me in at an hours notice. I found them both to be honest and knowledgeable, explaining what they were doing and advising on a small upgrade that they suggested. Once I do it, Chris will carry out the final bit of the work required at no additional charge. I would definitely recommend Mideast to others.
Price quoted is as of today for a regas with no other work required.
Approximate cost: $132
I took my LR back to Glenn to get a noise diagnosed. He gave me a quote for the diagnosis, which I was happy with.
He found the cause of the noise, both explained and showed me, then charged me just over half the quoted amount!
I'd recommend both the quality of his work, and his honesty.
Have dealt with Bryan in spare parts a number of times, and always found him helpful and polite. He's willing to chase the hard to find parts I sometimes order, including calling Honda Australia to find part numbers. He places a high priority on good customer service, and even returns phone calls, which is rare these days.
Have bought from them a few times. I should know exactly what you want before you enter; do your research thoroughly. They work on mass sales, and low margins, so don't have time for much advice or pleasantries. So if you know what you want, and don't expect chatty service, buy from them.
Voted 2005 Best Burger. Without doubt the best (and Biggest!) burgers I have ever eaten. Huge buns, lots of great fresh meat and salad etc. We have even made the trip from Bayswater just to buy them.
Approximate cost: $7
Great pizzas! The best I have had in the area. They have gourmet pizzas too, why are awesome. Try the house special, just as good the next day too.
Approximate cost: $10
Michael and Sophie are a pleasure to deal with. They have incredibly good prices on computer gear, and are able to source almost anything overnight. Excellent advice and service.
Peter has heaps of stock of home brew kits for beer, as well as billiard, dart and pool paraphernalia. He and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of home brewing and distillery.
Glenn really knows his Land Rovers. He provides excellent service at reasonable prices, and great advice too. I see his little orange stickers on Land Rovers all over Melbourne, so lots of others are happy to use him too
FJ's are a discount store that has a massive variety of tools, workwear, garden stuff, some power tools, and lots of other nicknacks. You'll be able to find many little things, usually a lot cheaper than other local hardware type stores. Service is good. Some chinese made items are of lower quality, but also a lot cheaper, so still represent good overall value.
