MSY are by far the cheapest available for computer components but make sure you do your research first before going there. Staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful but with prices as low as theirs who cares?

I've been shopping at MSY Box Hill for as long as it's been there. It was wonderful in the beginning before it became just another busy MSY like all the others in Melbourne. As others have pointed out, they're great if you know exactly what you want. But CALL FIRST. One of the most common criticisms of this and any of their other stores is that their price list does not accurately reflect what they actually have in stock. This is a side effect of their decision to use a single price list for all of their stores.

Customer service is sometimes decent but often terrible. As they are typically very busy they don't always answer the phone so you need to keep calling if you're checking to see if they have something in stock. To be honest, as soon as PCDIY opened up next door I've been buying the majority of computer stuff from them, only resorting to MSY if they don't have what I need. Like a lot of consumers I'm happy to pay a tiny bit extra for a more pleasant purchasing experience and better after sales support, and in this case we're typically only talking a couple of dollars.

In the end however I have to say that everyone has benefited from the presence of MSY. They've driven prices down to the point where computer swap meets (which used to be an integral part of each and every weekend for me) have become all but obsolete for anything other than second-hand parts. These days you can get even better prices every single day of the week.

These guys have no idea about service and dont care. I value my time too highly to use them any more unless I happen to be driving past, I certainly wont be using them any more deliberately since going into business for myself and needing parts quickly and reliably.

They have some good stock but also a lot of very cheap rubbish so make sure you specify exactly what you want. They often have no stock of items that are on their online price list.

Know what you want. Don't ask for advice. Pay the cheapest prices around.
If you don't know before you go in, google it. Find out first and don't look to the staff there to suggest anything.
I go there for all my computing needs.

Not much different from the pascoe vale store. The prices are low but be prepared to wait in a long que. Don't expect fantastic services either; the staff are absolute grumps

the best thing about this place is that they offer low-low prices compare major stores such as dicksmith etc. they dont normally give much advice on what to to buy, therefore you should always know what to buy before going. but other else its best computerizing store out there !! 2 thumbs up ~!

Have bought from them a few times. I should know exactly what you want before you enter; do your research thoroughly. They work on mass sales, and low margins, so don't have time for much advice or pleasantries. So if you know what you want, and don't expect chatty service, buy from them.

Excellent range, excellent prices. As long as you have your shopping list already written before you set foot in the door, it's excellent. They do not provide service like a standard retailer, so if you don't know about computers/parts, make sure you do your homework beforehand - download their price list and off you go.
