A tricky job - removing a huge dangerous blue gum growing through our deck. Very close to the house, very difficult to get the large stump removed without damaging the decking. These guys gave me complete confidence in their work. A team of 4 working together, spent close to 6 hours the first day and promised to come back the following week to finish off. However a few days later I came home to find they'd obviously found a moment in the meantime to finish the job. Very happy. They managed to get the job done in the time frame suggested (these things are always subject to weather so you have to be understanding). Paul shows concern about his staff safety which shows he really puts thought into the job. Price wise, I had a few quotes and everyone quoted the same anyway. Paul comes across as knowing his trees and I would recommend his arborist services as well. I walked past him and his team dead-wooding a large oak at our local primary school a bit before and knew I'd picked the right crowd.
I had a massage, facial and spa here and boy do they make you feel pampered. Atmosphere VERY peaceful, serene and relaxing. Staff quiet and pleasant (the hairdressing section looked more energetic but I didn't actually go in). Waiting room experience is a precursor of things to come. The massage and facial sent me a world away. A place to feel like a princess (or prince for that matter). You get what you pay for here and I thought it was worth it.
Ummm. I had a bad experience but perhaps it was a one off. They seem nice enough but did a botched job of the hair cut. I was presentable, but it wasn't a nicely styled cut like we'd discussed. The kind of thing you don't want to go back and get them to fix since they didn't get it right in the first place. I won't be going back.
Can't expect any real greatness in a shopping complex like this. Pleasant enough and easily my favourite stop for a bite in the Greensborough Shopping Plaza. Food quality is reliable. Service is fine. Nothing outstanding and nothing wrong with it either.
Modern casual dining inside and alfresco outside with heaters so even a winters day it's nice. Very up tempo kind of place. On quiet days staff have been friendly, on busy days staff have been abrupt. When we walked in without a booking on one busy day they were plain rude and sent us away with "think about booking ahead next time hey?!". However the food is divine, cheeses are yum, wine tasting is a joy, merchandise very well done and music selection eclectic but reliably great taste. Staff manners normally make or break a place for me but I'm addicted to their moscato so I make allowances in this case.
Charming atmosphere. Lovely antiques to browse. Selections of local gourmet produce & craft on display. Enclosed verandah setting for cafe, quite pokey but adds quaintness and charm rather than detracting. Also picturesque outdoor setting amongst cool green trees and a pond down the way (private property tho so don't try going for a walk). Old tractorish thing and cubby in yard for kids to muck around, but still retains a feel of sophistication. Haven't done breakfast there but lunch was yum and have also done "high tea" there - lovely cakes and no better place than an antique shop for high tea and idle chat.
A comfortable pleasant atmosphere inside. Cosey in winter but cool in summer. Alfresco dining outside lovely in spring/summer/autumn. Classic country pub. Not ostentatious. Has it's own feel. Great family pub. Some basic climbing equipment and swings in back "yard" and loads of room for the kids to run - better than any indoor playroom. Food is delicious, prices reasonable. Great menu choice & specials (I always want to come back to try something else). Kids menu is great value. Served timely. Staff friendly. We love this place and it's our regular for when we have visitors from outside Melbourne come stay with us. A great place to stop on a drive out Kinglake way too.
Approximate cost: $$20 - 25
Reception staff are lovely and premises is homely (it's a converted old home) and comfortable. Kevin is personable and pleasant but after a year of visits it does feel like you're in for a quick crack of off you go. A bit perfunctory. I've heard one of the female chiros is great but she's just left on maternity leave so I won't have a chance to find out for myself.
Okay as far as cafes go. Nothing exceptional. "Playroom" for the kids does keep them entertained to a degree but is fairly basic and small. Staff never seem that happy to be there and given the personable staff of similar establishments nearby I tend to give this place a miss if I can help it.
Very friendly casual manner. Trustworthy (I was ready to get new orthotics but she advised I could get another couple of years out of my existing ones). Took my 7 y.o. there too - she was great with him. I have private health which helps with cost. Not really sure how she stacks up compared to others because I haven't shopped araind but it seemed reasonable to me.
