My son was woken by his puppy this morning and was scratched in the eye. He was in a lot of pain and after calling three doctors in the area, who couldn't see him and only recommended he go to the hospital (probably a 3 hr wait in emergency), we rang Watsonia Optical. Janice was fantastic and arranged an appointment with Jeremy the optometrist to see him at 10.30 this morning. He had a good look at his eye and confirmed that the puppy had indeed scratched through two layers in his eye. He arranged with the local chemist to get some antibiotic drops (not available over the counter) and instructed him an its use along with drops to keep his eye lubricated. He should take it easy for a couple of days otherwise he should be fine. He also made a check up appointment for 1st thing next Tuesday (before his usual opening hours). Both Janice & Jeremy were very professional and compassionate, along with a great sense of humor. We are fairly new to this area and after one visit we can highly recommend their services Also as his parents who both wear glasses we know where will will book in for our next eye tests.

We moved Melbourne 8 yrs ago from western suburbs of Sydney where they really know how to make Kebabs. Until we recently moved to Watsonia we really hadn't come across a decent kebab joint, thank goodness we have now found one. Great Doner kebabs, plenty of meat, always fresh, great customer service by all staff and a great price at $9 each. As well as kebabs they also make great chips & pizzas. Definitely worth a visit, but be warned they can get busy on a weekend

We are only tenants in Watsonia, and Ben from BJC Concepts quoted on a window & door replacement the landlord needed to be done at our home (not our fault). Ben did his quote in a timely manner and a few weeks later called me to organise delivery of the window & sent to our his workers out a few days later. The two young men (sorry hubby couldn't remember their names), were on time, well organised & knew what they were doing, very professional. It was a stinking hot day, working in a hot garage but they did a fine job, an added bonus was they cleaned up as much as they could, which is quite often a failure by some tradies. Just moved into the area and thought we would like pizza rather than Domino's. Pedro's are only a two minute drive so we ordered a Large Super special, what a treat. Much larger than domino's or Pizza hut, much much more topping and real cheese. We have been back a couple of times . 3 large pizza' & garlic Bread to pick up $27 fantastic

Just moved into the area and got sick of take away. My son suggested the RSL he had just joined so we thought why not. Bonus is they have a shuttle bus service so everyone could have a drink & not worry about driving. The staff were very helpful, food was great and as we are seniors we got a discount on food, it's that good we also joined. They have live music every Saturday night FREE the only down side is they are a bit loud especially for the older members.

My son had an accident not his fault & the other driver drove off. We selected Northern General Bodyworks as they were a repair partner with RACV our insurance company. We called RACV to put in a claim and then the repairer & Donna had us booked in for inspection two hours later. We could see they were very busy . Geoff who thoroughly inspected the damage said it would be two weeks but the damage was repairable. Luckily we were covered for hire car so that was fine. Got the car back this morning two weeks to the day, repair is excellent and looks just as it did with all accessories fitted back on. They took care of all the paperwork and the car was cleaned inside & out which was a bonus. Hopefully we won't have to use their services again but I would highly recommend them

Between Collingwood station and work sits Loosie's. Every morning I pick up a Jumbo size latte for $4.50 where everyone else in the area is well over $5. The staff always happy remember your name & order after only a week. Great sandwiches & muffins. The bonus is a Loyalty card were every 6th coffee is free

After talking my ear off telling me how great his company was, an old fashioned family owned company, not like all those cowboys out there, I was quoted $170 per hr for 3 men & I thought that would cut down on loading time, no mention of travelling time so I gave him the job for moving my whole house of furniture.
The positives: he gave us free wrapping paper, packaging tape & loaned us 40 boxes for free, which were collected three weeks later and they didn't break anything, that’s all the positives.
On the day the large truck arrived around 10 am with one fellow in his late 40's & another fellow who looked closer to 80 years old, which did not instil me with a lot of confidence. But hey I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt.

My son got quite worried and proceeded to give them a hand as he knew this would be a long day.
Leon himself arrived about 40 mins later in another large truck and he was also closer to 80 and not all that fit either. He bought the extra truck as he was worried everything wouldn’t fit in the first truck (I think it would have) but I didn’t want two trips to be made. Obviously there was a bit of conflict between him and the crew in the other truck about loading etc, to the stage where there was a wonderful stand up, foul mouthed argument in my driveway, what a nice touch. Thankfully I had to leave son & hubby as the Telstra tech needed me at our destination, and Leon bailed me up and asked about a cup of tea, he’d basically only just arrived? I said sorry not at this end, and left.
Essentially there were the equivalent of 1 & 3/4 men not really the promised 3, and my son did a lot of assisting knowing this would hopefully save us time and money.
As we are extremely well organised (& have been told by many moving firms we are a removalist's dream client) we are veteran movers. I figured with three men it would take two hours to load two to unload and one hour travelling to new address total 5 hours and I allowed 6 hours @ $170 per hour $1020. Now they don’t use EFTPOS cash or personal cheque only. I don’t have a cheque book so I had $1100 cash
The total charged was 7 hours plus travelling time to and from their depot a total $1275, luckily we had enough between the family, as I was just glad to see the back of the lot of them at the end of the day. I doubt if they will even see this review as they don’t use digital media much. I just want to warn others that as a veteran of over 10 house moves this is one of the two worst I have made.

Hubby's piano is his baby, so there is no way we would trust moving it without a specialist Piano Mover, even though our furniture removalist said they could do it for an extra $100. Our Piano tuner recommended Simon at Classic Piano carriers and him and his offsider were fantastic. They had all the equipment to easily & smoothly move down the steps from our house load it in their van and transport to our new place. Once they arrived they had the piano up the steps and placed exactly where we wanted it within 15-20 minutes max. Great to deal with excellent value We wouldn't trust anyone else.
