We like pizza in this family and having tried a fair few places, Domino's even though a franchise, is fantastic.

Not only is their pizza fresh, well made and tasty the service is fast and always reliable.

The delivery service is exact, on time and the drivers always polite.

Buy on a Tuesday and Wednesday night and you get plenty of bang for your buck. Give them a go, I doubt you will be disappointed.

This review is for Gilberts Fresh Market, Midland WA

It does not get fresher and better priced than Gilberts. The range is fantastic, the service is great and the premises are always fully stocked and sparkling clean.

The quality is second to none - even the clearance section (which we visit because we juice a lot of fruit and veg) is cheaper than the produce Coles and IGA shamefully try to flog.

The hours are user-friendly - which makes life a great deal easier if you work extended hours.

Woolies, Coles and IGA - lift your game. Gilberts is leaving you for dead.

When our trusty old ute suddenly died we needed to find a decent used car and to be honest, for not much outlay. We decided to go up the 'car strip' in Midland and we first stopped at Midland Kia. We were met with a smile and a firm handshake by a fellow named Allan Baker. It went up high from there.

Allan was polite, knowledgeable, non-pushy and basically gave used car dealers a GREAT rap.

We bought a great lil hatchback and were signed, sealed and delivered within 24 hours.

While the paperwork was being drawn up, Allan lead us to the lounge area, got us coffee and told us to make ourselves comfortable.

I cannot recommend Allan Baker from Midland Kia highly enough. He made buying a car so smooth that I even gave him a hug and kiss before we hopped in the car and drove away.

This review is for Cafe Mueller, Midland WA

I had long heard about Cafe Mueller and it's eccentric owner/cook so it was with great interest we went with a group of friends. I know it is tres chic to have mismatched furniture, objects of interest etc to create an olde worlde vibe, but this place just did not do it for me. Initially, you will be surprised at the house/restaurant and the way everything is crammed into tiny places, but once you actually sit down in one of the very old, rather dusty chairs you will begin to notice how decayed, musty and neglected the entire place is. I, for one, spent most of the night staring at the massive cobweb (including spider) that sat above another guests head.

This set menu stuff is great when you have a small degree of choice. A choice of potato fritters or potato fritters is not a choice. Schnitzel or schnitzel is not a choice.

It took over an hour before we received our first course and to be honest, that is far too long. The food was bland - infact, memories of a boring aunt who cooked up stodge springs to mind.

Yes, Karl is a character and he tells a good story, but I can read a good back at home, with a hot cup of tea if that is what I want. I want good fast service, a clean environment but most of all, a tasty meal when I go out for dinner. Sadly, none of this made an appearance at Cafe Mueller. At the end of the day, quirky furniture does not an eatery make!

This review is for Jezebelle, Guildford WA

A girlfriend chose this place as she had heard it was beautifully fit-out and had great food. Yes, the interior is stunning - far more fitting Subiaco than Guildford to be honest. However, that is where the compliments end.

The wait staff were haughty, rolled eyes and not very helpful when it came to choosing food.

The menu was very limited, rather cryptic and it was very hard to find something to order that would taste good.

The servings were a joke. We all sat gape-mouthed when the first plate came out - except it was not a plate. I kid you not, a tiny serving of chorizo sausage was served in what appeared to be a sardine tin. That, my friend, cost $10 and meant that 6 of us had one slice of sausage each. It got more ridiculous from there. The food was average to tasty - I have had far better tapas elsewhere, but the cost is what got to us.

Funnily, the waitress had said 'We want you to leave so full that you won't go to Alfred's'. Sadly, that is where we DID go after we left, because after a couple of hundred dollars for all 6 of us, we were STARVING.

Yes Jezebelle, you are very, very pretty. But, you lack substance and value for money. We will not be coming back. Infact, my girlfriends and I now use the word 'chorizo' to mean something very small and lacking in value. :(

This review is for Wayne Phipps Smash Repairs, Midland WA

verified email - 02 Nov 2013

Wayne Phipps is a gem. Before July this year, the last time I had used his company was 25 years ago. Back then, the service was fantastic and since then, nothing has changed, not even the location.

I rang at 8pm on a Thursday night straight after my accident and low and behold - Wayne answered the phone. I brought my car in the next morning and 4 weeks later she was back, better than ever. In the meantime, Wayne kept me posted via sms/email and phone. I even received a happy birthday text - how cool is that?

Wayne is highly respected by his peers and is a big name in the industry - yet it is him that greets you at the door and comes out to inspect your car. I like that in a business - never too big to forget that the customers are the ones who put you there in the first place.

If you want superior service, quality customer handling and to feel as if you are more than just a number, then you cannot go past this business. I recommend him to every one I know.

This review is for Katsu Japanese, Midland WA

verified email - 02 Nov 2013

Katsu is super clean, super friendly, super tasty and VERY affordable. It is dine-in or takeaway. The menu is not wide, but what it does serve is prepared fresh and on the premises. My husband said the beef was the best he had tasted - it was lean, good quality and beautifully prepared. The miso soup is also very tasty.

I would recommend dining in as it is very roomy.

Good Japanese is hard to find in Midland, but you cannot beat this.

When staff know you by name and ask how your latest project is going, then you KNOW you have found a business that pays attention to the small stuff. Bunnings Midland is by far, the friendliest, neatest, best organised and most helpful of all the Bunnings. The fact that the staff tend to be older than your average pimply faced disinterested 'dude' makes a big difference in my books. They are helpful, knowledgeable, have a vast understanding about their specialist area and if they do not know, will find out the answer. We spend a lot of time in Bunnings doing a variety of projects but never feel that visiting is a chore but instead, money and time well invested.Worth a visit - the hotdogs and coffee are great too.

This review is for Swan Veterinary Hospital, Midvale WA

verified email - 02 Nov 2013

Like most other reviewers here, my experiences with George and his staff have been excellent. The clinic is clean, pet-friendly, the prices are very affordable, but most of all - it is about the ANIMALS. I take all my cats and dogs to George and their health is of paramount importance to not him, but all his vets. They offer solutions where other vets give you an all-or-nothing approach (and usually at a high cost). Every time I leave Swan Vet's I know I have done the very best for my dear animals. I would also like to add that I have good friends who foster the elderly and very ill pets that people surrender to George. Not only does George ensure that these pets go to good loving last-homes, he also continues with their treatment either at a very minimal cost or free of charge. I don't know any other vets that do this, do you?
