We contacted this company amid glowing self-reviews and seemingly thorough offerings in the cleaning market. When we first spoke to them they were professional, thorough, flexible and attentive. We booked a fortnightly clean.

Then came the first test. A week before we were to have a cleaner over my wife called to change times as we were going to have a large party at our house a day later after the cleaner was due to come. No problem, appointment changed, however when the cleaner arrived on Sept 11, she was, despite our urgings, the slowest person we have ever had work for us. We asked the agency earlier and reminded the cleaner that we wanted the house done in 3 hours, our house is a small-medium 3 bedroomer. After 1 hour she was still in the first room, our bedroom. We ended up extending to 4 hours, despite our budget but even then she still had 3 rooms to do, and we'd had enough and told her to leave them.

When we contacted the agency we were put through to the Manager and he politely told us about how they can only get students in some areas and they were young ra ra ra, we went along with that and confirmed that the next date was Sept 23 as we wanted to resume a fortnightly schedule from the Sept 11 date.

So imagine our surprise when a new cleaner arrived on the 16th , we had to turn them back and when we spoke on the phone with the Manager again but he denied knowing that the conversation to change to the 23rd ever took place. Soon his denials turned ugly and threatened to send the debt collectors in. My wife got distressed and kept relaying what events occurred and he kept responding by saying that the matter was out of his hands, we owed the debt collectors $88.50 and that was that. Soon the Manager was actually shouting “I don't care if you are losing your patience!” cutting my wife off, and eventually hanging up the phone. When my wife called back twice to further find out what was going on, each time, the lady one of the reviewers below describes as “dragon lady” picked up the phone and when my wife asked “Will you please let me explain?” she said “NO!!! this matter is resolved!” and hung up the phone.

My wife called me at work in tears and I called them back for a please explain about the date mix up, to which he responded that at the time he DID ask my wife was it okay for “next” Thursday, ( he meant 16th ) and when wife repeatedly said “Sept 23?” to which he agreed and that it was her fault that she got it wrong! When I asked him what proof he had he said all phone conversations were logged and that he'd checked them all. I found this most interesting as my wife called straight after all this had occurred and I was on the phone straight away so there's no way he could have had enough time to retrieve the logs nor was he willing to let me listen to them over the phone or in person at the office as all good call centres can do.

Despite their obvious appalling handling of this, the fact that the agency would cut off an ongoing contract after only one clean, no warnings and straight to debt agency over $88.50 represents either: 1) their paranoia over what their general customer base feels about them and their ability to get any money out of them due to obvious factors or 2) they have no idea how to run a business in the 21st century and that customer service is paramount.

Add to that that their company name is “A Woman's touch” is equally insulting to our intelligence and women in general.

Got his details from WOMOW and I wasn't disappointed. He made me feel very relaxed during the whole process, asked me a long list of questions, made me think of things I never even thought of but also made it a very interesting experience.
