Recently we held a function for our 30th Wedding Anniversary at this restaurant. The food was the best we have experienced in a Bayswater restaurant during 18 yeaars in the area. Without exception each of our guests complimented us on the food and the service and stated that our choice of restaurant was excellent. The luncheon was at our cost and we found the overall cost of the function was quite reasonable. We would thoroughly recommend the Highside Cafe/Restaurant to anyone and everyone for any function at all.
We have now taken about thrity-five people to the restuarant and they all say the same thing - Excellent!

Did you know that The Merchant of Fairness Bookshop is still at the South Melbourne Market after more than 25 years? It is the original location of this wonderful Bookshop (see entry in WOMOW). You can have books purchased from Balwyn delivered to South Melbourne for cobnvenient pick-up. Rare collectible books are the Merchant's specialty but he has tens of thousands of books. Seeing is believing.

We dined at Lindos Ringwood for the first time on my wife's birthday. The service was friendly and excellent, the food was superb, and the restaurant was clean and pleasant. It was excellent value. Anyone who had experienced Lindos in Ferntree Gully a few years ago would not be disappointed with this a la carte version.

Approximate cost: $18

One of the best bookshops in Melbourne with around 100,000 titles in categorised stock. Wide reference collection and excellent fiction range also. Militarian, antiquarian and thousands of other rare collectible titles. A must visit for any discerning buyer looking for the elusive book.
