I would highly recommend this Fish & Chip shop to everyone that I know, the food tastes really nice, and the price is very reasonable. The only down side is that you may be waiting a while, though this is due to their popularity, not slow service.
Approximate cost: $Depends on how many people you are feeding.
I had always known that The Spoon Cafe was expensive, so I tried my best to avoid going there. The first time that I went, I ordered some chips that cost $7. The bag was relatively small, and the chips were covered in various herbs and spices. Although the chips tasted nice, the serving size was the equivalent of $2 worth of chips at most Fish & Chip stores. The second time that I went there was out of desperation, as it was a public holiday, and the bakery and supermarket was closed. I ordered a steak sandwich that costed more than $20 + surcharge, I got my meal though had to go to the counter to get my drink.
Approximate cost: $I would expect to pay $30 per person including non-alcoholic drinks.
I have only been to the Paddington Central Pharmacy a few times, though I often notice when walking past, that they have discounts at the front of the shop, such as $2 bottles of shampoo.
Approximate cost: $Depends on what product you purchase.
I have been to The Men's Lounge on three occasions now, and plan on going back there. I like how you wait in queue, and don't have to worry about making an appointment. The cost of a haircut is also good value for money, especially when compared to some of the hairdressers in the city.
Approximate cost: $Around $20
Having the newsagent down the road from where I live is very convenient, I can go down there and buy a computer magazine or the paper. The newsagent is also situated very close to the Asahi Sushi bar and the bus stop, so you can grab a drink from there whilst having some Sushi or waiting for the bus to arrive.
Approximate cost: $Depends on what you purchase.
Asahi Sushi (formerly known as Sushi Dream) has a store at Paddington and The Gap. The Sushi is prepared daily at The Gap store and transported to the Paddington store. The price of the Sushi rolls is reasonable, the only negative thing is that the store usually runs out of Sushi by 2PM, so you need to go and get it early in the day.
Approximate cost: $Starting at $2.50 per roll
The Bardon Friendly Grocer (formerly known as FoodWorks) is a convenience store open 7 nights a week until 10PM. The store is perfect if you are in need of some food, and the major supermarkets have closed, especially on the weekend when they all close early. The only negative thing that I can think of is the cost of products, though you expect to pay more from a convenience store open late.
Approximate cost: $Depends on what product you purchase.
The Curry Republic serves very nice Indian dishes and makes delicious Naan bread. The restaurant is also very luxurious inside, which makes up for the cost. You have the option to eat in or take away, it is slightly cheaper to choose the take away option.
Approximate cost: $Starting at $16 take away, $19 eat in.
I can think of nothing bad to say about the quality of the food, all bread is baked daily to perfection.
I am a big fan of their 'Double Bacon Cheeseburger' pizza, however the pizza is not always consistent every time that you order it. For example, sometimes they have bacon bits, other times they have bacon strips. I usually find that they do not put enough BBQ sauce on the pizza, so I always ask for extra sauce when ordering. The one thing that annoys me, which may apply to all Domino's stores, is that the pizzas seem to be smaller on Cheap Tuesday. I would highly recommend receiving the Domino's email newsletter, as it includes discount codes, and you can get traditional pizzas for $6.95.
Approximate cost: $Starting from $6.95
