As a tourist just visiting the area for the day, I felt like getting a pie or two on the way home and stopped in as it was on the way out of the main area. The pies were great, nothing wrong there. Prices were above average, but I expected that because of the location. However, the service could definitely be improved on. Grumpy ladies with bad manners. Not so much as a 'hello' and when asking what pies were available, most of the time the response was "nut", which didn't seem helpful. Whoever "Ed" is that supposedly owns the joint according to the shop name, needs to tell his staff to actually smile and be polite to the customers, first impressions last and they didn't make great ones.

I've stayed at the Bay Apartments in Hervey Bay only twice, but I wish it could be more. I've found them to be absolutely fantastic. The service was great, the staff went out of their way to help and make it special. We found the actual apartments themselves to be absolutely beautiful. Great designs, very spacious, modern and 'user friendly'. We really enjoyed it there and would look forward to staying there again in the future some time.

I was probably given too much hype about this burger joint before I went there, talk such as 'the best burger place in the world'. That's a pretty big claim to live up to. I'll give it that it was good, infact quite good, the staff were all good, friendly and the prices reasonable considering it's Brisbane, but to me, maybe not the 'best in the world', but i'd still give it a pretty high ranking. I would say for the real healthy folk out there, you'd probably love this option, give it a go. They just need to clean the tables a bit quicker. However, overall, nice experience, good burger. I'd go there again for sure.

I know they are a chicken shop, but they seriously have the best chips in town. Very 'more-ish'. One packet isn't enough, get more. Their chicken is always great too. We live on the other side of town to them, but it's definitely worth the drive. Good service, good value, great quality. As Arnold said, "I'll be back."

I haven't honestly tried too much of the fish from here, as the first time I went in I only needed some chips. And wow, those chips were awesome. Have been back several times for more chip purchases and they continue to be amazing. From personal experience I wasn't a fan of the chicken salt from here, but the ordinary salt was great. Some of the best chips i've tasted around. I have had some fish and burgers from here also and they are also at a really great quality. Thanks :)

Fantastic. Always casual laid back feeling but with service and style. The staff are friendly and helpful. Often, especially weekends, if you don't have a booking, then you probably won't get a seat, at least not without a lengthy wait, because they are so popular. Always a good sign. The food is great. The service is really quick and the view is great. And there's even a free tea / coffee / hot chocolate machine while you wait. The hot chocolates from it are great. The whole place has a very 'RSL' feel to it, but on a different level. They do a great job, keep up the great work.

One of our favourite restaurants to visit in Hervey Bay. We ate their a few nights ago and as usual it was fantastic. Service is always polite and friendly. Meals were hot and on our table probably within 10-15 minutes of ordering. Cost is very reasonable for the generous sized servings your meals are. We've often been there for birthdays because they have the birthday person's meal for free, so it makes sense, why not bring a group of friends. Often really good live entertainment also. Top notch fun restaurant, we really enjoy it. Well done.

This review is for BigScreen Cinemas, Booral QLD

I think I would give this 3.5 stars out of 5, but wasn't given the option. Ultimately, it's a decent cinema, because the alternative is in Maryborough, and that one is fairly poxy and smells like feet. I've never understood why they have a giant sign out the front that says "Cinemas 6", yet there is only 5 screens, figure that one out. Their recent refurbishment of the lobby has certainly picked it up quite a bit in appearance which is much nicer when you walk in. However, the service that follows is often not great. Not always, but often. Some of the staff are nice and can have a joke, but some take their 'career' at the cinemas a bit too seriously. Often, their problems, become yours. They aren't problem solvers. When they run out of normal salted popcorn (yes, run out of popcorn), you can get the caramel flavoured popcorn (ooooohhh), but you've got to pay extra for it. Oh, i'm sorry you weren't prepared to cook extra popcorn. Same deal with drinks etc. They used to do good deals for buying tickets in bulk, but that's gone last time I checked now too. One time, and this was my fault, I turned up 5 minutes after the movie session had started. All the staff appeared to be lounging around in the lobby, we strolled in and offered to give them money and they wouldn't take it. Oh i'm sorry we missed out on 5 minutes of the 15 minutes of previews. It was too bad, what are you going to do about it?
However, like I said, the alternative is not great, so what do you do. They have no real competition and we all want to see movies.
Overall, it's still a good night out enjoying a movie (when they play the right film in the right cinema and get it in focus - that has happened - twice). I'm a huge movie buff, so I guess I'm extra disappointed when they get stuff wrong, but until there's better competition to keep them on their toes, we'll keep going back there. As a matter of fact, i'm going there tomorrow night! I have high standards of businesses, because if I was running them, they would be running a lot smoother. But i'm not, so i'll just tag along for the ride...

If you're looking for a gourmet pizza, then look no further, FRESH makes the best around. In my opinion, they are fantastic. Service has always been great, food quality is well above average and it's good value for dollar. You could eat an entire Domino's pizza and still feel hungry, but after 3 slices of this delicious pizza, with the very generous sizes of servings, you'll be starting to feel it and glad that you can put the rest in the fridge for some left overs tomorrow - that is, if you don't have others over ready to scoff it down too.
I haven't tried their pasta, but if it's anything like how good their pizza is, then i'm sure it's awesome. Well done guys, keep up the great work. My only suggestion would be to bring back your loyalty cards. Well done.

Location. Location. Location. These guys have it. Located on the Bruce Highway, they get a lot of business, which is great. They do have great food and drinks. But one thing that concerns me is that every time I go there, it often seems like it's all new staff. The other thing is, you may need to let the bank know you are about to make a big purchase. The prices are high and high for what you get. There once was a 'sandwich' and it was about $7. OK, fair enough. But the next time going there, the exact same sandwich, was now served in halves, for, wait for it, $7 each. Is it just me, or is that excessive? In summer time, they drastically need to do something about the incredible number of flies outside. Maybe i've just had some bad experiences there. As a local, I think they could look after us better. They will always get new customers every day from being on the highway, that's great, but look after your local customers.
All that aside, I don't want to seem like I'm on a trip to bag them out, they are good overall, they make a great coffee and the quality is generally great. One great thing is the little novelty item shop they have and seeing them roast the coffee and being taught how. The experienced staff that have hung on there definitely know their stuff, if you get them, you'll enjoy it. If you are on the highway, definitely check them out.
