This review is for Chuckles Cafe, Eumundi QLD

verified email - 02 Apr 2013

We were delighted to find Chuckles when visiting the small town of Eumundi. The coffee was a little average unfortunately but the staff are super friendly and their breakfasts and lunches are great value. It is also right in the heart of town, opposite the main market so easy to just stop by for a rest between browsing through the famous Eumundi markets!

This review is for Leela Traditional Thai Massage, Haymarket NSW

I've been exploring the different Thai Massages around Sydney and have found that Leela one of the worst I've been to. Firstly, their shop felt 'make shift' and looks nothing like the photos advertising the calm and serene surroundings.
The Haymarket brand is cramped with a small walkway, very small waiting area (didn't work with 5 clients all waiting at the same time - it felt like we were at the doctors) and the treatment 'mattresses' lined up really closely to each other.

I had a male masseuse, which I generally didn't mind but he was really bad. It felt like he was just learning as he really didn't put any effort into the massage and just rubbed in different places hoping to hit the spot. I came out of the massage not feeling any better at all.

There are cheaper and better places in the City. I don't recommend the Leela in Haymarket.

Approximate cost: $69 for an hour

I loved the food.
We visited for my husband's birthday and only chose the location because it was right opposite my work making it easier for a week night's meal.
I was expecting it to be super expensive, but found that for the quality of the restaurant, it was actually cheaper than what other similar businesses charged!
My husband and I had an entree each, a main each, a wine/beer each and a dessert each followed by a coffee and tea each. That added up to $200.
The food was amazing, and seafood lovers must try the Brodetto / Vongole / surf Clams / prawns dish. Divine.
Of course, always leave room for dessert!
The staff were super great too. Friendly and approachable. Each of them treated us like we are regulars, building a good rapport with us even though they were actually busy with a function going on. No one looked rushed and no request too much to ask for.

The only downside to this restaurant is that it's in a corporate building so for me it felt like I am still at work - but that's not a rating point so they get five stars from me all the way!

This review is for Tango Espresso, Pyrmont NSW

The coffee here are one of the cheapest in Pyrmont and not bad quality too, unfortunately the staff can get a little grumpy. Often it feels like they only serve those they know (as they will act buddy buddy with and then become distant and average when it's your turn).
I do still come here because:
1. they have e-Coffee card, which I prefer to use
2. their coffee really isn't that bad, it's pretty good and cheaper than those around them
3. free wifi

The sandwiches are not bad either but I've only ever had it once, I can't say for the rest of the food.

We love the food here. I don't think I've had a disappointing dish here ever!
The staff are generally friendly but can sometimes be 'absent' when you want them (chatting in the back room a bit too much?)
The restaurant is a little dark, but perhaps that was designed to be more intimate and romantic? I do prefer a brighter venue.
Otherwise, the price is great, the quality of the food excellent and I have no other complaints!

I love everything about Sushi Samurai. They have great lunch specials and excellent sushi which I enjoy every time. I just think they can be a little too expensive. One must pay for quality I guess!

I've visited twice now and have had great service each time. I have bad shoulders and neck and I generally prefer Thai massage over other styles because they stretch you at the same time.
Staff here are super friendly and very good at what they do. They can 'feel' where my problems are and concentrate in that area so that after every session I feel like I am completely re-booted!
Even better is they often do specials of $39 for an hour massage, it's been great!

Approximate cost: $39-$158

We have been coming here for ages, and have recently noticed the service and the food are not as good as they were before.
Firstly since the restaurant had undergone renovations (now with a more 'upper class' feel with fancy decor and seating designs) - the quality has deteriorated.
The food servings are much smaller despite the increase in prices.
The food no longer taste as nice. Yes, it's still nice but they used to be a lot better.
The service has not improved despite trying to be a 'better' restaurant. No one smiles, they rush about and slam food on the table and sometimes, not even bothering to check if they were serving it to the right table.
They want to be a first class restaurant but they don't bother put in the effort for it - one fine example is the use of old, chipped plates, bowls, teapots and cups.
Sorry, it's simply just disappointing and we've stopped going.

This review is for High Tea On The Coast, Sydney NSW

verified email - 14 Oct 2012

Instead of going out to high tea, we decided to set up a nice little area for high tea and have High Tea on the Coast to deliver the stuff.
On the day, Alex dropped off all the necessary things for a high tea party - fancy cups and saucers, beautifully set up plates and cake stands - and of course, really delicious food. We had the delux high tea and I ordered a 6 person event - but we had enough food to probably feed 10!
When everything has been dropped off, we were left to have our party without hassle, and they later returned to pick up everything.
One small downside was that because items pick up time was a lot later than when we finished, we still had to help rinse the cups and plates (just in case ants get to them) and stack them somewhere in the garden hoping they won't break in the meantime, for them to come pick it up.
However, with better organisation, I'd definitely use them next time I feel like having a small event at home.

Approximate cost: $55 per person

I had a back massage, hand treatment and facial. The shop doesn't really have much of a 'luxury' feel, and the massage areas are all 'communal' with only a curtain between you and the next person. Considering you are naked during your massage this isn't the most comfortable and relaxing experience.
The massage itself was disappointing... the facial was good but not too relaxing as you can hear everything going on in the shop including the shop assistants chatting and laughing among themselves and the other people in the room getting their massages might be giggling/laughing about some personal joke they are sharing.

The shop itself is very make shift. There isn't much room for anything. I thought you go to Day Spas to relax, not to feel awkward and crammed.

Unfortunately I won't be returning to this place.
