This review is for Uncle Ming's Bar, Sydney NSW

verified email - 14 Oct 2012

It is rare to have such establishment in Sydney. You wouldn't be able to find it without really knowing where you are going. There isn't any signs on the street and Uncle Ming's is a themed bar that is literally next to a tailor's shop and through a door!
It's like going into a different world, and the staff are really friendly. Really good quality boutique drinks offerings and interesting 'bar food' having dumplings and gowgee on offer.
I love the decor, I love the atmosphere - unlike other Sydney bars, there's no attitude and it's really down to earth.
Loved it.

This review is for Cafe Saligna, West Pennant Hills NSW

The food at Cafe Saligna can be a bit of a hit and miss, thankfully from experience it's more hit than miss!

Having said that, it's just another cafe with average coffee and standard wholesale cakes. Their $13.50 big breakfast is good value.

Sometimes the staff can get a little flustered if they are too busy, but almost always friendly.

We do love coming here, as it's right in the middle of the Cumberland State Forest and it's a great place to relax and have a chat after a walk in the forest. The live music adds that bit of atmosphere on the weekends too.

This review is for Chennai Malaysian Restaurant, Newtown NSW

verified email - 04 Jun 2012

Their lunch specials are really good value, and the staff are always friendly. However the quality of the food could be improved somewhat and compared to another Malaysian restaurant down the road, it doesn't taste as nice. The Laksa lack flavour and the Roti Cannai could be a little fluffier, but then again, if you are not as picky about Malaysian food as me, you probably will love it! It really isn't all that bad.

Just a tip for all Malaysians out there - these guys are Hallal, but don't 'display' it. Just so you know.

My first visit to the store I needed a quote to fix my laptop. Robert said he charged for a formal quote but will be happy to just email me a price. So I emailed him and he emailed back and all was fine, although I did feel that he was a little cold and couldn't be bothered with the job.
When I went back to take my laptop in, he had another staff with him and they were a little bit more interested in helping me. Most of the time when I visit it feels like a quick in and quick out service and it just makes you feel like they just want your money and not the rapport with you.
The repair was good though, the laptop is now up and running, I just feel that the service could have been better.

Excellent coffee in a very hip environment, they also have really really good muffins! Get there early though it goes fast.
Staff are friendly although can be a little flustered when busy (aren't we all?). Food is great too, but I come here mainly for the coffee and to hang out.

This review is for Uni Thai, Glebe NSW

verified email - 22 May 2012

It is as the name suggest - it's Uni Thai - great Thai food for prices affordable by uni students! Although it's your standard take away Thai quality, it's a cheap lunch to be had and worth the money. A quick in and out food outlet.

This review is for Tai Baan Bakery, Eastwood NSW

They've recently changed owners and I must admit the quality of their products has done downhill. We used to get birthday cakes from them and got one since they've changed management - the cake wasn't as nice and you can tell the cream is no longer of high quality.

The shallot buns we used to love is also a lot sweeter than usual, meaning they are putting more sugar in for taste rather than other ingredients to save cost.

A little disappointed.

This review is for Eastwood Dry Cleaners, Eastwood NSW

We have been using Eastwood Dry Cleaners for the past three years. We've dry cleaned our suits and dresses as well as had alterations done for some of my garments. They are friendly and honest locals who charge a very reasonable price with quality workmenship.

This review is for BridgeClimb Sydney, Sydney NSW

verified email - 23 Apr 2012

We won the climb through a travel magazine competition and it was fantastic. The booking process was easy and friendly and on the day everything was very professional.
We were briefed on safety and taught how to use the various equipments needed for the bridge climb. It was well set up and all the staff made you feel welcome and safe. The climb took us to the top of the Sydney Harbour bridge and the view from up there is just amazing. Our climb leader also had lots of stories to tell!
The climb is a little expensive if we were to pay for it though but it really is definitely worth it, even for people who live in Sydney to be able to see it from a different view~!

This review is for La Kasbah, Drummoyne NSW

We've always wanted to try Moroccan but didn't know where to go. So luckily one of those online deals came up and we happily booked ourselves a table.
It was fantastic. I loved my Tangine chicken and the spices used were just excellent.
The only thing I didn't like about it was the place was really stuffy. I know the idea is to feel like you are in a tent in Morocco so it's decorated like a tent and tables are really close together, but it got really hot and some parts of the restaurant were a bit dusty.
Other than that, our meal was fantastic, the staff were friendly (if not really busy) and I would happily come back for more!
