I was hoping for an authentic Malaysian meal but was sorely disappointed. I ordered Sambal Long bean and the Babi Assam, they both were disappointing. Both dishes were full of oil and nothing else. I was only able to find 2 small pieces of pork in the Babi Assam after looking through a pool of oil/spices. The sambal long bean was very oily and overly salty. The serving sizes were shockingly small. I felt ripped off to be honest.
It's located on St Kilda Road, amongst the office buildings but was surprisingly quiet on a Wednesday night. I had Hainanese chicken with rice, it was not authentic but OK tasting. The chilli sauce was more like paste and definitely not Hainanese chili sauce. The rice was fragrant and not too oily. The number of chicken pieces could have been more generous considering the price they charged.
Conveniently located at the corner of High street. Hubby works around the corner from this place so we decided to give this place a try.
Hubby ordered chicken parma- his favorite pub food and I had chicken risotto. My risotto was nicely cooked and well seasoned. Hubby enjoyed his chicken parma. Serving sizes were generous and prices were pretty reasonable.
Just average Thai food. We ordered Pad Thai and cashew chicken to share. Hubby was not happy with either one of the dishes. He is the least fussy of us those when it comes to food.
The Pad Thai was quite bland and didn't have much meat or vegies in it. There were lots of noodle and nothing else.
We ordered the Braised Beef ribs and Spicy hot soup with rice. The Beef were so tender and tasty. We were actually surprised at the serving size of the beef. It was definitely generous and more than enough for the two of us. The soup was nice and spicy. The service was friendly and attentive.
Yummy Bento Boxes. Generous serving at reasonable price. The place is a small takeaway place with just few tables. I had the Teriyaki salmon box- it came with lots of side dishes and the salmon were delicious. The miso soup that came with the bento box was also very tasty.
A must visit whenever I go to the Dandenong ranges. We usually go to this place after visiting 1000 steps. Best scones ever- so fluffy and light. The home made jam is to die for. The ladies there are always very friendly and welcoming. The only negative is having to wait every time- at least half an hour wait.
Friendly and attentive service. I have been here twice now. The place is huge and always seem quiet the both times I was there. The first time I went, I was a little worried when I saw there were only 2 other tables. Usually when a place is not busy is probably because the food is bad. I was pleasantly surprised that the foods were actually yummy. A little bit more expensive than the usual dumpling places but I was happy to pay extra for the friendly service. My favorite dish was the Calamari in three cups sauce.
Best pancakes every- so light and fluffy. This place looks small and doesn't have any nice decor(compared to to others in the area) etc but the quality of food and prices make up for it. Best thing about this place is that they make delicious dandelion latte.
A really cool, nice looking place. It looks like a container from the outside but light filled and cozy on the inside. I had the cured salmon with tea marbled egg- the avocado mousse that came with it was interesting and different. My husband had the coffee wagyu burger, he really enjoyed it. The coffee was not overpowering at all.
