This review is for Royal Thai Cuisine, Hobart TAS

Royal Thai is owned by the same people who own Lime & Lemongrass in Bellerive. This is a more upmarket restaurant which I would classify as fine dining. The prices are fairly steep for Thai food, but the decor, atmosphere, service are food are all very nice.

I found the entres in particular to be fairly pricey. They serve the best green curry that I have had in Hobart. You have to pay extra for plain steamed rice as that is not included in the price of the mains.

They also do takeaway food.

This is one of the few medical centres in Hobart that bulk bill. Compared to some other medical practices they are relatively fast at getting you an appointment (generally within a day or two).

The doctors are fairly good at keeping to the scheduled appointment time, although if you want to see a nurse you may have to wait.

I have tried many dentists over the years and this dental surgery is the best I have ever been to. My dentist in this surgery is Dr Butler. Dr Butler is always on time, tells you clearly what is required, how long it will take and does a great job.

Some dentists I have been to in other practices don't do a great job with fillings and I have had to go back to get them filed properly. Dr Butler always does a perfect job.

They are not the cheapest but it's worth the extra cost to get the job done properly.

I don't eat fish or seafood so I can't rate the majority of the restaurant, but I go there for the ice-creams. yum! They have one of the best range of ice-creams in Hobart and at great prices.

You will have to queue as they are very popular, but it doesn't take too long to get served.

Most of the plays at this Theatre are put on by the Hobart Repertory Theatre Society. They have a fantastic group of actors are put on a great variety of plays so there is something each year that will appeal to everyone. My favourite each year is the mystery - usually an Agatha Christie play.
The theatre itself is an old fashioned small theatre with lots of character. It only seats about 230 people so you get a great view from every seat.

Great little corner shop offers all the basics and a few extras. They also do takeaway food (chips, hamburgers etc). Family owned business with friendly and helpful owners.

This review is for Savoy Day Spa, Hobart TAS

This day spa offers a huge range of massages, facials and other beauty treatments or for $22 you can get the 'float bubble and steam' where you steam in 2 saunas, bubble away in 4 spas and then float in the pool.
Personally I find the pool a little cold to spend too much time in, but it would be a good temperature for most people.
They also offer a frequent shoppers club (Savoy Club).

This review is for Lansdowne Pool, West Hobart TAS

This private pool offers classes for babies from 6 months on - their Bubs in Tubs program which is a great way to introduce baby to the water with lots of splashing and moving to nursery rhymes and songs.

The pool is advertised as a salt water pool, although I think it also contains some chlorine, so it is gentle on babies skin. It's also heated to at least 31 degrees which makes it nice for bubs as well as mums and dads!

You can also hire out the pool in 30 minute blocks and have a private swim.

Aside from being the place where Princess Mary shops when she's in town, the main reason so many Hobartians shop here is the great quality and range of food. They have the best range of bread in Hobart with varieties you don't find in too many other places, including loafs, rolls, bagels, pretzels etc. Fantastic cakes and top quality local produce including fruit, vegetables, flowers, dairy products etc.
Their weekly email tells you about their specials and details the region those products are from so you know where you're buying your food from.
Although this little shop can be packed, the staff are generally quick to serve you so you won't have to wait too long.

This review is for Shipwrights Arms Hotel, Battery Point TAS

This is one of the few pubs you can go to that don't have pokies, TAB or any other form of betting. What a novelty!
Although you generally have to wait 1 hour for your meal, the food is worth the wait. The staff tend to leave you alone which can be great if you want an uninterrupted meal, but a bit annoying if you're trying to get another drink.
