Ordered takeaway one night for my family. It was delivered on time which was great.
I was perplexed to order 'crispy potato fingers' as an entrée, thinking it would be some nice potato-y Indian delicacy, however received a bag with lukewarm soggy French fries. They tasted awful and ended up in the bin.
Despite specifying that I was feeding children, the food was still too spicy. I myself struggled with it.
Given the amount of Indian restaurants around, I won't be giving Mumbai Grill a second chance.

This review is for Sushi Express, Boronia VIC

After seeing an ad for this Sushi Express in my son's school newsletter, I thought I would pop in and try it out. We are firm favourites of their store in Belgrave- excellent service and food.
A walk down an unclean arcade with dirty floor and litter, past kids loitering outside the tattoo shop led me to Sushi Express.
The sole staff member was sitting at one of the tables in the eating area, on his phone.
I went up to the counter and ordered a bento box. The staff member went out into the kitchen and started preparing it.
There was no music playing, so I was sitting in silence.
My bento box came out. The vegetable tempura was ROCK HARD. I could throw it someone's head and knock them out. You could barely chew through it. I realise this sounds like an exaggeration, but truly, it is not.
The chicken teriyaki was so so salty, I could hardly eat it.
While I was eating (in silence), the staff member was either pacing in the kitchen; or sitting behind the counter on his phone with the familiar facebook messenger ping.
Odd dining environment, and wouldn't go back for the food. I didn't try any sushi rolls, I'm sure they would be fine though.

This review is for Molly Moo and Tilly Bear, Cowes VIC

If you have kids and are visiting Cowes, molly moo + tilly bear is simply a must-stop destination.
The café is decked out in a gorgeous retro way, with cute as lightshades and gorgeous furniture.
There is a dedicated childrens play area (how many cafes have that!), that is accessible by a child proof gate.
Babycinos are on the menu. My one gripe is that sometimes they come with a marshmallow, sometimes not. Consistency is key with kids!
They have a gorgeous array of beautiful, quality toys; as well as vintage inspired dresses and candles for the mamas.
The cakes are divine. Milkshakes and iced chocolates are probably a little pricey at $6. Wish there was cream in the iced chocolate!
Staff are friendly and service is reasonably efficient. Babycino always seems to be brought out last though, so if you have little ones, request it to come first.

This review is for Island Healing, Cape Woolamai VIC

I booked in yesterday and saw Susie for a remedial massage. A bonus at island healing is that they have Hicaps available, so if you have private health insurance, you need only pay the gap ($25 in this instance).
The waiting room was relaxing, with nice plump couches, filtered water, and plenty of things to read while you wait.
My massage was great. I will be back when in town on holidays again.

This review is for Tecoma Dental, Tecoma VIC

I came in recently for a routine dental checkup ($50).
The waiting room was clean and quiet, with a friendly receptionist.
I was called into the dental room at my exact appointment time- no waiting!
The dentist (Richard) was friendly with a good sense of humour. He gave me great dental hygiene tips. I also got a complimentary Oral B pack with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss.
I look forward to going back again in 6 months time.

Myself and my kids have been in a few times over the last couple of months to see Jess.
She has an excellent beside manner with the kids, and always engages with them, and waits until they are ready, before laying a finger on them.
Having been in solo also, her treatments are very relaxing and effective.
Highly recommend!

Popped in for a 3 scoop cup, which was $7. We were served efficiently and quickly.
We saw a staff member fold down an umbrella at 4.30pm, on a 35 degree day. All of the tables inside, and the two tables undercover outside were full, so myself and my 2 kids had to sit in the blistering hot sun on the metal chairs. Thought it was odd that they seemed keen to pack up on what appeared to be a busy day for them.
Ice cream was delicious, we all enjoyed it. Next time I'd probably grab it and take it down to the beach, and sit in a shady spot.

This review is for Youki's, Cowes VIC

Stopped in at Youki's for a nigiri box and chicken schnitzel sushi roll.
The staff member was really friendly to my kids and engaged them in conversation.
Service was quick and efficient; food was delicious.

This review is for Mad Cowes Cafe, Cowes VIC

Stopped in for lunch on a relatively busy day.
We were given a table number, however the waitress that took our order wrote down a different number on our docket, which meant wait staff weren't able to find us. I had to chase them down to bring our food and drinks over.
Arancini balls were delicious. My kids enjoyed a babycino and a milkshake.
It's in a good location across the road from the beach.

This review is for Kilcunda Oceanview Holiday Retreat, Kilcunda VIC

I stayed here for 2 nights recently with my children. The service at reception was pretty dismal- information wasn't freely volunteered, and you felt like you were interrupting their day.
Our cabin wasn't properly cleaned- leftover food from previous guests, sink not wiped down properly. A shame, since the cabins are new and beautifully appointed.
We loved our gas log fire, and the bunks- the top folded up when not in use.
Excellent playground with toys in the sandpit.
Kids Club wasn't running in the school holidays, despite being advertised on the website.
Was given incorrect information regarding local tourist attractions which was very frustrating.

Approximate cost: $220/night
