Kerry and Michael run this great little post office in Deakin West. Their clients are mainly from the surrounding businesses. These two people are the best ambassadors for any organisation; they are always friendly; are knowledgable and helpful. They stock all the basic items you could possibly want including that all important chocolate bar for the 3pm slumps. A great place for a last minute gift or card, or a gift voucher. Give them a try.

My favourite butcher Mr Chops at Cooleman Court has opened their express shop, right opposite Woolies. Same fantastic quality meat but all prepacked. Just grab what you want and take to the checkout. They will even tell you how to cook it! How's that for great service.

Popped in here to have a watch chain repaired and ended up with two gorgeous baby bracelets for gifts. This lovely little jewellers have some really gorgeous pieces for sale. They offer an old-fashioned service which is really lovely. Turnaround times on repairs are very quick too.

Contacted Alan about moving a couple of items from Deakin to Mawson, late on Friday afternoon. He graciously took on the job, as we had to have the stuff moved the same day. He arrived on time and moved some very awkward furniture for me, relocating it to its new home in Mawson. Alan is a lovely man who smiled his whole way through the job. Would be happpy to call him for removal work again.

Fabulous Indian food. Its a really busy little restaurant, tucked away in Pearce shops. One of Canberra's 'open secrets'. The food is always amazing, and really inexpensive. The owner has a fabulous memory for her customers and will remember you even if its been 12 months since your last visit. Bookings are essential - it really is one of Canberra's most popular Indian restaurants, and for a very good reason. Great for groups too.

We eat here regularly and occasionally pick-up a take-away on the way home from work. THe food is consistently good and is really good value for money. Its a buzzy place, and is great for a group. BYO.

Love this chilled little wine / cocktail bar on Ormond Road in Elwood. Great spot for a quick drink and a bite or a relaxed, chilled afternoon. The staff are great and always happy and friendly. Got to try their cocktails too - they do a good mojito too. Team that with some dishes of tapas and hot chips - delicious!

My husband and I have bought a few pieces of ski gear from Peter and Joan over the years. Peter is an ex-Salamon ski boot fitter so who better to fit me for my very first pair of new ski boots. He offers a free - for the life of the boot - service which is a fantastic way to make sure your boots are a perfect fit. We also bought ski jackets, pants and socks here this season. A great little shop, wonderful personal service and great prices!

After a day on the slopes I was looking forward to loosening my boots and sipping on a cocktail. The Curve bar certainly didn't let me down. With its funky seating, bright colours, a lovely barman who makes great drinks life didn't get much better. What a way to end a day on the snow - sipping a delicious drink, watching the world go by.

Another little find in Mawson - a banking facility with old fashioned service. The other great thing about this is that there is usually parking outside the door and no queues. The ladies who work here a lovely. They arranged a Visa Debit card for me to take overseas with no fuss at all. They even phoned me to advise when a particular transaction had happened! How is that for service. Will be talking to them about loans in the future.
