Oporto make a great change to the normal run of the mill burgers. The sauces & condiments are wonderful. My only issue is that they don't offer combo deals like KFC or MacDonalds do, so they cost a bit more.

The best thing about this KFC, is that it is one of the only ones open at 9am in the morning. Great if you want some greasy food after a heavy night.

Easy to park. That is a plus. They do heaps of advertising, and have great prices, but the meat is not much better than Coles or Woolworths. Admittedly, they have better variety.

I love Indian food, and even though some of it is designed to cater to Australian popularity, they have a great range. Their fried chicken wings make a great snack.

I purchased a number of items from the original building (on Bank Corner) in the mid 80s, including my first electric guitar, amp, & synthesiser. Back then you would goto Sydney to purchase music gear at the right price. Now you don't, and they stock rare items. The staff are helpful, and over the last few years they helped me with purchasing guitars for my kids.

I remember when this was business was 'Mainly Military' in King St, then expanded to Wolfe/Hunter St, before the current site they moved to in the late 80s. It has further expanded into other shops, which shows how successful they are. Once upon a time you would travel to Sydney, now you don't. This is one of the few shops that provide a reason to venture into Newcastle City.

I have been shopping here since the day the store opened. The Officeworks 30 day account card is a great incentive. I only ever had one issue, which was when I was sold a pre-used Virgin prepaid internet.

David is a good vet. He is in an isolated area, where they are the only vet between Toronto & Morriset/Cooranbong they have it made. Jody is great. However, we had our dog there in 2007. We were told one quote, but one of the 'anti-biotic' had gone up in price. We were quoted with a higher bill. Not only that, despite our kids being involved in sport together, he never did us any favours (despite what I saw at our kids sport games - ie frontline samples). That's why I now go out of the area.

I have for a number of years gone to a local vet near our house. After a dispute & pricing, I went to another vet, which I have used for several years. When I rang them today for an appointment, they were closed (despite the website). I rang Mt Hutton, and they said they could fit us straight in. After a short wait, our cat was checked, & given an injection. He seems okay now.

My daughter joined this school at a young age at Charlestown, and we/her were told she was promising. She would practice at home, she enjoyed practising with her friends. etc A few years ago, she had a day off at the end of the year to attend her best friends birthday party. When I turned up at the school (to pay off fees) they said there was a trophy there for her. I never told her of this, but some of her fellow classmates did. This lowered her self-esteem greatly. Also, she was kept back for 45mins (along with other students). It was her 11th birthday party. I threatened to pull her out completely. Last year she hardly attended any classes. As a result, she is probably lost to dance.
