I love this Japanese restaurant and I make sure to scedule a lunch or dinner date there whenever I make it in to the city. The food is absolutely fantastic, some of the best Japanese I've had in Sydney and it's not overly priced, after eating there, you'd be happy to pay anything anyway. The staff are just gorgeous, they're always welcoming and friendly. The restaurant itself is very cute and compact, I've had to hold my breath getting in and out of my seat a few times but it's not a bother, it really just adds to the whole cozy experince of fanatsic japanese in a great little basement hideaway off the busy streets of Sydney. An absolute must for any food enthusiast.

Approximate cost: $10-$15 a dish

Barzura is such a cool cafe/restaurant. The location is absolutely fantasic, it would be the closest spot you could get to Coogee beach itself. Being open from 7am-11pm everyday allows you to stroll on in whenever it suits you, no need to worry about closing time! The food is great, the staff are friendly. Highly recommended.

This review is for Chat Thai, Randwick NSW

By far the best Thai I've had in Sydney. These guys just do everything well. They're comparatively cheap, the food is fantastic and the restaurants have such a cool atmosphere. My favourite meal has to be the padt si-ew and you haven't experienced Chat Thai until you've tried the Lychee Blend drink! Amazing! A highly recommended restaurant for an unbeatable dine in experience or delicious takeaway.

This review is for Out Of The Blue, Clovelly NSW

Out Of The Blue is the busiest little fish and chip shop you'll come accross on a weekend in Clovelly. The quality of their fish is by far some of the best we've had and the burgers are to die for! My favourite is the Tofu burger, its massive and big on taste. The chips leave a little to be desired, they're not as crisp as you'd like them to be, but the overall experience is just fantastic.

This review is for Takeya Japanese Sushi Bar + BBQ, Coogee NSW

verified email - 24 Jul 2012

To be honest, this Japanese restaurant left a lot to be desired. The food wasn't the best I'd had, even the edamame beans were disappointing. The service was poor, we were left to our own devices a lot. Unfortunately, I wont be returning to Takeya or recommending to freinds.

This review is for Oshio Sushi, Coogee NSW

Oshio sushi is a cute little take away sushi shop situated on Coogee Bay road. The sushi is always fresh and the staff were friendly, happy to bring it to me on the footpath as I had my dog. I'm always popping in to grab a quick roll. Very tasty.

This review is for Flavour Of North India, Coogee NSW

This little Indian restaurant on Coogee Bay road sells great, cheap indian food. The staff are very friendly and there's heaps of seating available inside. They've always got different specials running and I'm often caught grabbing a samosa or naan as I'm walking by.

This review is for Courtyard Cafe, Coogee NSW

The Courtyard Cafe in Coogee has such a wonderfully open outdoor space, sheltered from the sun and rain by a retractable roof. There is plenty of room for prams and dogs and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food portions are generous and they were more than willing to let me take home my unfinished meal. Cool furniture, cool place, and such a wonderful buzz.

This cute little cafe on Coogee Bay Road caters to all diners with many vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. The staff are incredibly lovely, we have always been made to feel completely welcome, even when we have ordered close to closing time. A wonderful place to be.

This review is for Iggy's Bread, Bronte NSW

verified email - 23 Jul 2012

Iggy's bread is a diamond amongst Sydney bread shops. A hole in the wall situated on a Bronte suburban street, the absolute place to be on a Saturday morning to buy your fresh bread. Just get in early, they sell out of the favourites fast!
