Wow. I had no idea how good Ethiopian food was. I am so glad I paid this one a visit! Beautiful bread, amazing food. It felt quite traditional in that the food came out in a single bowl/basket for everyone to share. The flavours really complemented each other. I desperately want to go back!
Great food, great prices, hearty, filling and just a bit special. I'm a huge fan of their comfy seats! Definitely check it out if you're in the mood for some warm dumplings on a cold winter's day.
Brilliant cakes! It's always exciting when someone comes home with a Dobinson's bag, and even more of a delight to share a couple of tarts or cakes with friends. Yum!
We came here as a group, and while the food was decent, the service was atrocious. We opted for a shared menu between 14 people. There was nowhere near enough food.

It's a nice place, nice food, ok service. I like coming here, and I'm huge fan of a roast veg salad they serve with goat's cheese. But really, it's just like a whole ot of similar places.
This is a lovely place for dinner. Great food, great service, and a great night out. The Belconnen equivalent is just as good.

AMAZING cocktails. They have a fantastic variety of cocktails, and everyone can pick a favourite. The quality is beautiful, and the wait (and price) is worth it. The downside here is that Hippo gets incredibly crowded. It often charges a cover (unusual for Canberra!), but it's got a great vibe and it's well worth a visit.

Purple Pickle is a great on campus cafe. It can be a little pricey for student food, but it's definitely worth it if you want something just a little more upmarket than Subway and kebab. Great breakfast menu, and they specialise in crepes.
Approximate cost: $15
A really nice place to chill for a quiet beer or four in the afternoon. Plenty of pool tables, great booths, and a huge outdoor area. Some decent acts on a Thursday or Friday night. And, of course, on campus booze is always a little cheaper.
Can Tho is definitely a hidden gem. It has an unassuming decor, and is tucked away behind the Belconnen centre. The food is incredible, the service is fast, and the prices are great. Definitely give it a go.
