Total panic at our place when son, visiting from Hanoi, managed to break his glasses on a Sunday night .. and due to fly interstate for a business meetings two days later.

We figured that Bell Optometrist was the closest place that might be able to deliver in time. And deliver they did.

Julian did the eye-test and had the new glasses delivered and tested within 24 hours of us ordering! Amazing service with a smile.

Just Hooked now occupies the site previously occupied by Sussex Seafood. The fish is good, and so are the chips, but other shops in the area offer better serves for the same price.

We ordered a Fish-and-Chips pack (grilled) which should have cost us $7.50 plus $0.50 for the "grilled" option.

This somehow got priced separately for grilled fish and minimum chips, totalling $8.80. But we actually received a Fish-and-Chips pack (Not Grilled!).

OK, so everyone makes mistakes. But when we used the "Send Us A Message" option the business website, we got no response; not even a "Thankyou for your feedback."

So next time you want fish, just travel the extra 300 metres to the premises now occupied by Sussex Seafood.

A few months back, there were insufficient staff on duty overnight, so customers sometimes had a 15-minute wait for collection from the airport. This situation now seems to have been rectified.

And if you're a senior or an RACV member, you can get a discount rate!

Booked a trip for two of us to the US, and promised to register a Frequent Flyer identity for my partner and associate her flights with it. Seems that she "forgot", and she still hasn't rectified the situation.

Also "forgot" to associate my flights with my FF identity.

She always tries hard to accommodate one's appointment needs, and her shop is one of the happiest shops to be in at Merlynston.

The cost for a male haircut is about the same as one might pay at a cut-price establishment in a large shopping centre, but you get the same reliable hairdresser every time.

I've been told that her charges for female cuts and styles are more than competitive.

She's also in some demand for wedding groups.

Metro Motor Mechanics maintained my aging Daihatsu long after other places would have charged me way more than it was worth. The manager there is always ready to discuss repair options and arrange an appropriate appointment.

Coffee's good, service is lamentable. On two occasions this year the staff have been unable to provide a new loyalty card.

This place is in an ideal position for users of the Upfield Bike Track, but there's not much space for bicycles outside.

Would benefit greatly from a simpler menu, lower prices and more attention ty hygiene.

Convenient location close to public transport and other (Chemist, Physio, etc.) facilities. Open until late every night.

But patient scheduling leaves something to be desired; one often has to wait for an hour after the appointment time!
