I was one of those kids that would cry and fight if I had to go to a dentist. When I became an adult and had to find a dentist in Melbourne, I thanked all the gods that I found Dr Patel at Healthy Smiles. He's absolutely brilliant in what he does and for someone that's so sensitive to pain like me, he always took his time and made sure I was comfortable every 5 minutes in every procedure. Mind you, I had two root canal procedures done about two or three years ago (blame my fear of going to dentists when I was younger so I had bad teeth) and my perception of a dentist changed forever because Dr Patel is nothing like a dentist I had when I was a kid. He's attentive, kind and professional. I devoted myself to continue having my regular check ups and occasional small fillings where he is in Blackburn when I moved to Bundoora. That's how good he is and the rest of the people in this practice. The receptionists and other dentists are amazing and treat customers with respect.

I've loved coming here almost every month and half for the past 5 years! I've always had Wendy who did my facials and waxing. She literally saved my skin (I was prone to acne and my skin was always dehydrated). And she was always so attentive to my requests and taking her time to make sure that I was happy although she has all the right to become familiar with me after all those years. Wendy is truly an incredible asset to the beauty industry. Not only she has a wealth of knowledge about skin but also an exceptional people skill. I've missed her so terribly much because she left about 4 months ago.

All the other ladies at Madison are lovely too but I had only had one or two treatments done by others when Wendy wasn't around to be as comfortable as I was with Wendy whom I had for The past 5 years.

They do points too! When you accumulate enough points, you can get some services for free or at a discounted rate. I've always had my waxing services free of charge because I had so many facials and treatments. This place has been like my go to beauty saviour.

I'm not one that likes to write bad reviews about a business. I'm sure there are so many people out there that are full of praises of lash and brow boudoir. That was how I found them on google based on reviews and braved myself to try threading my eyebrows for the first time.

My beauty therapist of 5 years has always waxed it for me and I was always happy with the job. She then left and I had a bad waxing job done 4 months ago by a different therapist. I waited for my eyebrow hair to grow since then.

I went to lash & brow boudoir yesterday at prahran. i made it clear that I didn't like curvy / pointy shape for my eyebrows and even showed a picture to the lady who did my threading. I know her name and I have no doubt of her expertise but obviously she did what she thought was best for me and I ended up with the eyebrow shape I hated the most, curvy / pointy tail. She went on to say that I didn't have much hair for her to do the shaping I wanted. She could have told me in the beginning and I would have stopped right there.

But she looked at the picture I showed her (I wanted a straight shaped eyebrow tail) and nodded. When she finally showed me the mirror after she finished with my right eyebrow and was in the middle of doing my left eyebrow, my heart sank. I love the look of my left eyebrow (I clearly had enough hair at that time to achieve the straight shaped eyebrow but my right eyebrow is pointy so for the sake of not looking weird with different shapes, I just let her finish her job).

I wasn't very verbal with my disappointment at that time because I always hate making people feel terrible. I've never been so upset with a beauty service (the bad waxing job I had wasn't even that bad compared to the threading I had yesterday). Don't get me wrong, it was a neat job. But I walked away feeling unheard and my opinion is not valued.

I didn't go ahead with the lash lift & tint as per my initial booking because when I got there, I was told I had to take out my lens, not wear mascara and I had an important dinner I had to go that night and I didn't bring my lens container. I was sorry that I wasn't aware of all of that so I asked them not to go ahead with it. And they didn't charge me the cancellation fee ($30) but I bought a product of $105?

I felt the only value I've gotten from this salon was the product I bought, not what I initially went for : good eyebrow shape.

Now I hated looking myself in the mirror and already making enquiries to other salons about getting feathering eyebrow.

I was very hopeful of this salon when I made the booking. I'm writing this review not because I want people to stay away from it, but for them to realise how important it is to be attentive and not do what they think it's best. It's the customers. I still believe they're one of the best but I'm not returning.
