We had a negative bakery experience on the way through Port Wakefield at another bakery but thought we might give 1 of the others a try....as to our astonishment, there are 4 bakeries in this township. We thought we might try this bakery as we came back towards Adelaide, because the name attracted us and happy customers sitting at front of shop. We were not disappointed! Good 'old-fashioned' yellow tinge pastry pies.....YUM....I thought, and they were DELICIOUS! The girls were absolutely attentive, polite and sweet. We will be sure to come again girls, thank you for making our last lunchtime for the trip so delicious....you make a difference!

In 2012 when I made this review, there were 4 Bakeries in this township - 3 of them on the main road and one in a side street off the main road - not sure about now. I have reviewed one other bakery in Port Wakefied, not so good.

I'm pleased for the other person. Our experience was somewhat different. My sister's pie was all gravy, my son's was luke warm. I chose beef, tomato & onion...it TASTED NICE but their pastry is 'limp' for some reason and takes a 'balancing act' to consume. We did have a good experience at a small bakery in the township on our return trip and found their staff to be more genuine and products country baked. Maybe a flash new business isn't always the way to go....hey? PS There are 4 Bakeries to choose from - AMAZING!

PS We have travelled around different country areas since 2012 and tried different bakeries - we like to try country cooking. I would compare this bakery with commercial bakeries like one of the current bakeries in Tanunda. To me, the country ones are nicer. That's my observation and two-pence worth of blurb. You may choose differently, that is up to you.
