I went to ZENsaki to satisfy my craving for pork Gyoza ($7). There were only three on a plate which was a little disappointing but oh my, they sure were delicious! Perfectly cooked & made with fresh, high quality ingredients. I'll be back to try the ramen that seem to be their speciality.

IS Donburi serve fresh, delicious, high quality Japanese food.

They have a range of fresh sushi rolls, including Hosomaki (hand rolls) for around $3 or $4. These are super fresh, great for a takeaway snack or light meal.

The Donburi, Udon noodle soups & Yaki Udon servings are all huge. Recently I had the Chicken Katsu Udon noodle soup ($12.50), as a takeaway it comes with the soup liquid separately packaged so that the other ingredients don't go soggy while you travel. The chicken was crispy & delicious, the soup was flavoursome and the noodles were perfectly cooked. Healthy comfort food on a rainy day.

Today I tried the pork Gyoza starter ($7) and a miso soup ($1.50). The miso soup was great, as expected. Then I got into the Gyoza. Wow, amazing! Firstly, there were SIX pork dumplings, unlike a Japanese restaurant across the tracks that serves three for the same price. Secondly, these were pan-fried as opposed to straight-up boiled. Served on a generous bed of green salad leaves, with Japanese mayo & a teriyaki reduction. The crispy dumpling was super delicious, the filling was fresh and tasty, totally amazing.

This tiny modern-Japanese eatery is truly awesome and highly recommended.

Fantastic little cafe!
They have a special Thai menu, as well as cafe standards like continental rolls ($7), various wraps ($7) and cakes.
Great Pad Thai ($10) and Massaman Curry ($10). They also do wraps with curried meat as the filling. Unusual & delicious. The wrap itself can sometimes a little tough, generally later in the day though.
The Basil Chicken Rice Paper Rolls ($6) are phenomenal - super fresh ingredients and very tasty.
Fantastic coffees, great food, plus endlessly friendly & accommodating staff make this a place you should be visiting.

I got a small take away Udon Noodle Soup ($3.80) from Taka's Kitchen. It was a Wednesday evening and they weren't very busy. My soup was ready in just a couple of minutes, and tasted okay. The noodles were a bit overcooked and the soup itself could have done with more flavour. In their favour, it was a super-cheap dinner.
Service wasn't great, it took several attempts for the cashier to understand my question - I was asking whether they had gyoza. She was friendly though, so maybe it was just a language barrier/my pronunciation.
You get what you pay for at Taka's Kitchen, it's probably worth the extra cost of going elsewhere.

I work around the corner from here so pop in for take-away quite often. It's cheap, cheerful & tasty. I almost always get the Pork Chipotle 'Mini-B' Burrito ($7.90) with brown rice (50c) & guacamole ($1).
I've tried the Steak Chipotle in a burrito, which was a bit tough, and the Grilled Chicken Salad ($12) which was very generous in serving, and super delicious.
The condiment bar has jalapeno peppers, fresh coriander, red onion, and three types of Tabasco, all of which you can put into tiny plastic containers for your takeaway meal. This is a truly awesome bonus.
Visit between 11am and 2pm to get a can of standard soft drink for only $1 with your meal. Their Mexican Cola is sublime but the bottled soft drinks are $4.50 each so a little overpriced.
The service can be a little patchy (I've had my guacamole left out once or twice) but the staff are always smiling and happy to rectify any mistakes.
GYG is a great addition to the Northbridge food scene as it is super fast, well-priced, and delicious.

We brunched here for Mother's Day. They don't take bookings on the weekends so I arrived ahead of our party of five to make sure we got a table. Despite it being very busy (noon), it turned out there was one available immediately! The Mother in question was concerned that our food would take a long time to come out but it was a very reasonable wait (15 minutes).
The food itself was fantastic - interesting breakfast choices, plus counter lunch options such as frittatas: all made with high quality, fresh ingredients.
I had the Potato Rosti ($19) which came with two poached eggs, bacon & lemon scented spinach. Nice, but I probably wouldn't order it again because the rosti itself had too much plain potato. It could have done with some seasoning (and not just salt & pepper).
My partner had the Full Breakfast ($22) which was fantastic value, including two eggs (your choice of scrambled, poached or fried), bacon, Italian sausage, potato cake, homemade beans & more. The potato cake was absolutely divine, made with seeded mustard, red onion & spinach. The Italian sausage was disappointing though, very dry.
Others in our party had the Vegetarian Full Breakfast ($22), and a frittata from the counter selection (came with a gorgeous salad). These looked fantastic and there were zero complaints from the eaters! All the portions were very generous.
The coffee was top notch, they have a lovely range of teas (pot for one $4) and the orange juice was good quality.
Service was speedy, helpful & pleasant.
Later in the afternoon I went back for a cheeky slice of Orange & Poppyseed Cake ($7). This was served very generously and the cake was deliciously moist. My only complaint would be that the outer edge was a little too dry, but only the very edge.
All in all, I would highly recommend Sayers Food for a fantastic brunch experience.
