This is my local doctor and as I'm a regular usually more than once a week, it's nice to be comfortable. I've seen a number of the doctors and all are friendly and easy going. The ladies who man the front desk are far too nice and always have a chat with me when I come in. The actual surgery is very clean and well looked after. I'm not too certain about pricing as medicare covers my medical costs but I would say they are about average.

I used to work in this little bakery so I can confidently say that its very clean and is also home to some of the best "healthy" breads going around. Though its a bit pricey its well worth it when you bring home a fresh loaf of bread. The savoury pastries are also delicious and I would suggest the lemon muffins! Oh and the staff are generally young and friendly and willing to chuck your pizza slice in the microwave for you anytime. Just make sure you pop in early cos all the good stuffs gone by the arvo.

My local pharmacy, home to a great prescription counter as well as a very nicely stocked cosmetics range. All the staff are well qualified and are always really helpful when i come in and pick up scripts. They'll always talk me through everything and even print me out info pamphlets when I'm getting new medication. As well the cosmetics section is packed to the brim whether it be makeup, nail polish, hair care etc! oh and my favourite is that they always have the new range of OPI nail lacquers.

Lemon Parade is a little fashion boutique in Ivanhoe. It's home to some great local brands and is generally a great place to shop for your races outfit. however in the last year or so the stock has been a bit mediocre with most things looking the same but the staff are friendly enough and trying things on etc is too easy. overall, though its a good store that often is home to some great finds.

A fantastic little bookstore full of new releases and classics. An excellent children's and young adults sections. The actual store is always clean and the staff are super friendly and are always happy to order in my unusual requests which they almost always can get and they'll always ring me as soon as they do, just like they say they will. The staff know what they're talking about and keep up to date with everything literary so they are most helpful to just chat to as well!

This is my local haunt. It's a great restaurant with good food. I spend most nights though sitting out front having a coffee which are usually fantastic as well and reasonably priced. The staff are also super friendly and always find time to have a chat with us.

Borders is a fantastic bookstore and houses such a variety of books that I just cant help but go in when i walk past. However it lacks the warmth and friendliness that little independent bookstores have which makes borders look in comparison a little mainstream and stark. It's still a great place to settle with a coffee and magazine. The entire store is let down by the cd/dvd section which is outrageously overpriced.

This place is one of my favourite stores in the city. It houses almost every pop culture item you could imagine and if they dont have it the staff are more than happy to order it in for you. You can spend hours in their browsing and I often find myself just wandering about looking at the huge range of stuff.

My local hair dresser is great value and the friendly staff always make you feel welcome at home. The wonderful head massages always go down well and the staff are constantly topping up your tasty aveda herbal tea while you get your hair done! it does get a bit pricey when it comes to more full on colouring etc

great service and product but for ice cream it is a bit pricey. love the fact that it stays open late! its perfect for a late night date and i go with my boyfriend all the time. they have so many flavours and constantly bring in new ones so its always a different experience
