Being seated near the kids playground, when we had no children was a real draw back. Lots of noise. Staff were very friendly and polite. We had the herb bread to start, a little dry and not a lot of flavour but did come with a chilli and sour cream sauce that helped to lift it. Both mains were delightful and a really good size, we didn't even go close to finishing. The chicken schnitzel was real breast. The seafood platter a mix of raw, grilled and deep fryed seafood, beautiful. We will be back.

What a horrid experience. If you want food straight from the "frozen food" section of the supermarket eat here. The vegetables in the bain Maree were dried out, totally overcooked. The mains, awful. Seafood was pre-battered and not fully cooked, staight out of the freezer. Chips were discusting. Chicken schnitzel, again straight out of the freezer, pre battered. Lamb shanks had the "out of the jar" sauce poured over them just before they were served. Save yourself the effort of driving to this place. You can cook better at home. Just go the the frozen section in your local supermarket.

For a cafe/pub type of meal, this place is good. Extensive menu and HUGE meals. I have never yet managed to eat more than 1/2 of the meal. The Calamari salad is lovely as is many of the chicken dishes. Wasn't too keen on their club sandwich, possibly the thickest slices of bread I have ever seen. Staff are always nice. We are regulars and plan to stay that way.

Food was excellent. We were a large group of 15. Every meal was delivered at the same time, no delays and cooked to perfection (a big plus for me). We had a very diverse group on the table and no-one was disappointed. One of our group was a coffee lover from Sydney. He commented on the coffee that it was the best in Ballarat, coffee not burnt and milk not heated too hot. We will be back.

What can I say but wow, wow, wow.
Wow for the service. It was everything I would have expected from a restaurant like Asahi. From the second we walked in we were treated with the upmost respect and given paramount service. Wow for the food. The presentation was divine, and flavours and freshness could not have been better. We will absolutley return agan.
