This review is for Palace Backpackers, Brisbane QLD

This place ticks all the boxes for budget accommodation. I have stayed in both the dormitories and a single room; as a backpacker the dormitories were definitely the best place! Prices are very reasonable for its central Brisbane location, dormitories are spacious enough to accommodate guests and luggage, and the downstairs bar provides a great opportunity to socialise with other like minded people. I used the Palace as a base between the Gold Coast and the Outback, and was definitely not disappointed. Oh, and they have an office where they can help you with travel arrangements and finding work - I was struggling to find employment, went into see the guy that worked in there, and was on a bus the following day heading out west to my new job! It may not be the Ritz, but it also ain't the slums of Brisbane. Were it not for the fact that my backpacking days are now long gone and I now have a small family, I would definitely stay there again.

Approximate cost: $22

This review is for Caboolture East State Primary School, Caboolture QLD

My son has been at this school for over two years now. When considering local state primary schools in the Caboolture / Morayfield area, we decided that this school was the best choice. It is a smaller school than other local schools. Average class size is 23-25. Their Special Education Unit is by far the best in the area, and they provide key support for any students in need. The P&C is very active and involved in the running of the school, and provide an open service to families. Communication with form teachers has, in my personal experience, been open, honest and forthcoming, and the principal always has her door open. If there are any issues, they follow procedures and get specialist teachers / aides involved to ensure a quick resolution. Overall, if you are looking for a local state primary education, I would definitely recommend this school.

This review is for Mariner On The Pacific, Alexandra Headland QLD

These apartments are well located with awesome views of Mooloolaba and Alexandra Headlands. The units are immaculate, beautifully decorated and very well maintained. They have spa baths, air cons and a very large balcony for outside dining and relaxing. There is also an outdoor pool and BBQ area, which is clean and tidy. We managed to get a great deal for this accommodation through wotif.com, and during our stay felt like kings and queens. If we go back to this area again, I would definitely stay there

This review is for Destress Massage, Caboolture QLD

I wish I could put an extra star under the 'value' category, because the value for service is superior! I was given a voucher for this massage place for Mother's Day, and walked out of there feeling brand new. Their staff are lovely and friendly, and VERY good at what they do. It's like they have magic hands. Treatment is in a private cubicle, so you can relax and enjoy their service in the midst of a busy shopping centre. They offer a number of different packages and combinations that cover just about every part of your body, and the products they use have fragrances that are delicious. Awesome value for genuinely good service, 100% recommended.

This review is for Legends Hairdressers, Morayfield QLD

I love the fact that while shopping in Morayfield shopping centre you can just 'drop in' for a haircut, without worrying about appointments. I have had mine and my kids' hair cut there and cannot fault them. Master 6 loves the English girl that works there as she is an expert at shaving 'tracks' into his hair; they are all great with children. I have used a few of the girls for my own hair, and each time I have walked out of the salon with a smile and great new 'do'. Oh, not to mention the fact I do not need to take out a second mortgage to pay for our cuts; Legends is one of the best priced salons around!

This review is for Feedmania, Caboolture QLD

verified email - 19 May 2013

I am a regular customer of one particular product - cow poo!!!! For $2 I get a large horse feed bag of nice, fresh poo, straight from the fields. Manure is generally done to order, so we just ring up and advise how many bags we're after, and the young fella is out shovelling to get back to us within a few days. The staff at Feedmania are nice, friendly, and knowledgeable, can't fault them at all, have a great range of stock as well. Good for chickens etc and bulk animal feed. Recommended feed shop.

This review is for Optical Superstore, Morayfield QLD

Great choice of frames, and affordable solutions and options. Had my eyes tested there (bulk billed), they provide a complete eye health check, and explained everything very clearly. They also discussed my options for lenses and add-ons in plain English, considered my budget for glasses and helped me find a suitable glasses package, without being pushy. They have frames to suit every budget, from basic to some VERY NICE designer ones. Once you have chosen your lenses, they usually are ready to pick up quite quickly, and the staff make sure that they are fitted properly, clean and adjusted before you leave the store. Whether you are new to glasses or replacing an old pair, they are so helpful and make sure you get what YOU want, within YOUR budget. Definitely recommended

This review is for Caboolture Sports Club, Morayfield QLD

3 words - $10 meal deals. Nothign beats a good old pub lunch, and the Caboolture Sports Club definitely does not disappoint. Their food is top notch and extremely well priced. I agree with many that the staff and service can be a bit impersonal, I guess if you are not a regular (which I am not), however considering the size of the club and the number of patrons I guess I can understand why. They have so many facilities under one roof; bar, lounge, restaurant, keno, pokies, regular entertainment / shows, fully supervised children's room (if you can get in that is, everytime we've gone they've been full!) They also run a shuttle bus service for members. Plenty of car parking as well.

This review is for Cabooluture Tenpin Bowl, Morayfield QLD

So much fun!! Well catered towards children and adults of all ages, shoe hire is included in the very reasonable price of your game. Plenty of different size bowls to ensure everyone gets a fair go. They have disco bowling as well for those that can handle intense strobe lights, the kids love it! Bumpers and aides for smaller kids, clean and tidy, this club is well managed and maintained.
Upstairs there is mini golf as well - we haven't tried it yet, but have heard good things about it.
Also includes a cafe with good snack food for the kids, and drinks for all.
A great evening activity for the whole family.

This review is for Kings Fishery, Caboolture QLD

verified email - 17 May 2013

I think Kings Fishery was a lot better a couple of years ago. They still provide good food and service, however I have noticed the portions have down sized and the prices have upsized. It is not the fastest service around (although to be fair I have only been during peak times) but they have an efficient ticketing and ordering system. I like the fact that I can see all the cooks and what they are doing, it is transparent. Their burgers are crazy big, I'd definitely recommend them, you need a knife and fork to eat them :)
