Chips in abundance! Of all the chippies I know in the area, this chip shop offers the most bang for your buck. Say for example you'd normally get $5 worth of chips for your family from another chip shop - in Whiteys, you order $3 and get the same amount. They pile them up, it's brilliant. It's also close to the Spar, so you can grab your loaf of bread on the way. Their basket deals are great value as well.

This review is for Full House Coffee Lounge, Caboolture QLD

So, you're doing your weekly shop in Caboolture Park Shopping Centre, the kids are whinging that they are hungry, your stomach is making strange growling sounds but you don't have much spare time or cash. No worries!!! The Full House is perfect for grabbing a quick bite to eat on the go, or sit down and have a coffee and snack. I personally like the outisde canteen part the best (this is what I call a 'Greasy Spoon'), the food is cooked ready to go, and has heaps of choice for everyone, including potato gems, spring rolls, chico rolls, fish, chips, gravy etc etc. Plenty to keep the kids quiet, plenty to fill your tummy, and their prices are very low. Food is hot and tastes great. For a healthier option you can enjoy the louge and choose from a variety of menu items, but if you are craving a good old greasy snack head to the canteen. The staff are brilliant, they chat and have a good laugh with you, and they always remember you the next time you go there! Can't fault this place at all.

This review is for Bring It On Hair, Bellmere QLD

Have visited this salon twice, once for hair and once to get my eyebrows done. Cannot fault the quality and price of the eyebrow waxing, the girl did a good job. I'm not sure I'd have my hair cut there again... it wasn't bad but it wasn't great, and I think this is because the girl rushed my cut which was disappointing as I had booked my appointment in advance, but they had a lot of walk ins they wanted to get through. The salon itself is nice and clean, and the staff are very friendly.

Yum. Yum. YUM!!!! Best fish and chip shop in the Caboolture / Morayfield area, hands down. Their food tastes so fresh, they have a great variety of menu options and it is well cooked.... not too greasy like many places. I thought they were very reasonable priced as well for the quality and quantity of food you get. If you are considering getting take away during peak lunch and dinner hours, I would definitely recommend phoning through your order in advance and getting a pick up time, as this place is very popular and gets very busy, but they are definitely worth waiting for. YUMMO!!

Great coffee - what more could you want from a coffee shop!! They are consistently good, and the location is great for a bit of people watching! I always grab a cuppa from here when I am shopping down King Street, guaranteed quality everytime.

This review is for Meat City, Morayfield QLD

I get most of my meat from Meat City. The meat is butchered on site in plain sight, so you can see what you are getting. The general consensus is, the more you buy the more you save. So your price per kilo goes down the more you buy. They have a very wide selection of meats available, with a variety of different cuts from budget to premium. This is the perfect choice for stocking up the freezer, or planning a BBQ party. Great for families. They have a large section of clearance items as well, you can always grab a bargain! Also offer basic essentials to top up your trolley i.e. milk, bread, eggs etc.

This review is for Hippo's House, Caboolture QLD

During the school holidays, Hippo's House is my saviour! There is lots of equipment and play area for children of all ages - just remember to bring a pair of socks so you don't have to buy them when you get there!! The cafe caters to both children and adults, the kids meals are a big hit... and plenty of caffeine options for Mum and Dad :). Entry is very reasonably priced and is untimed; prices start from around $7.50 (graded by age), and they often have some good special offers and events on over the school holidays. Birthday parties here are great fun for the kids and well organised.
Only drawback? You may leave with hearing loss and lingering aromas - it can get very loud, and very sweaty in there! But that is all the more proof that the children have a great time there!

This review is for Pets Paradise, Morayfield QLD

I feel sad every time I have to walk past this shop front in Morayfield Shopping Centre. This pet shops sells animals that are too young to be sold, and charge horrendously for them. 5 or 6 puppies are squashed into a glass box in the window to entice customers. These puppies are usually around 6 weeks old. The average price for for a cross breed pup is around $800; pure breeds attract four digits. They also sell 3 week old guinea pigs, and guinea pigs that have been inadequately sexed and are sold incorrectly (I bought two 'female' guinea pigs, one was too young and died shortly after, the other was a male). Selling pregnant sows is a common occurrence. The staff appear to be very knowledgeable about animal health and care, however I discovered recently that a lot of the advice they give out is incorrect, although to someone who didn't know better, it would sound good. I have bought some pet items there in the past when I needed emergency supplies, but they are also more expensive than most; I would not recommend them.

This review is for Sundowner Hotel Motel, Caboolture QLD

verified email - 16 May 2013

Have stayed and dined at the Sundowner Hotel Motel. If you are looking for overnight accommodation in the Caboolture / Bribie area but don't want to pay Bribie prices, the Sundowner is definitely worth a look. The motel is set to the side of the hotel, but that doesn't mean it is noisy. Being near the motorway and Bribie Island Road, traffic can be noisy. However, in the block you have the hotel, motel, bottle-o, Maccas, Subway and plenty of parking. The hotel goes off at the weekend, but if you are child-free, it is a good night. The rooms are typical of your average motel; slightly outdated decor, average to good cleanliness, basic tea making facilities and old TV sets etc, however they are spacious, some have bunk beds (great for the kids), and some have spas. Expect to pay around $100 a night, and you can usually turn up on the night and get a room without booking.

Approximate cost: $100

This review is for Base Backpackers, Sydney NSW

verified email - 16 May 2013

I have stayed in many different backpacker hostels across Australia. Base Backpackers was definitely my favourite and most memorable hostel. Unlike many run down hostels, The Base is immaculate, well maintained, HAS AIR CONDITIONING IN THE ROOMS!!!! and has well kept facilities (kitchens, shared bathrooms etc. It is very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, informative and fun - when I needed advice or info they were available and willing to help. I stayed in a 10-bed dorm for a couple of months - which might sound daunting - but due to the large sized dorm rooms, and space between each bunk, it was a very pleasant stay. Expect to pay a couple of $$ more than your average hostel, but the service you get exceeds the extra cost. Centrally located in the CBD, if you are looking for a CBD hostel experience this is definitely the one!!!
