I went here for breakfast with friends and it was fabulous. I had the Italian-style french toast, a special, and it was delicious. With the addition of bacon on the side, the huge serving of thick chunks of the italian-french toast, heaps of strawberries, lashings of maple syrup and sweetened cream on the side, plus the addition of bacon, cost only $18! Coffee was great too, and the waitstaff were attentive but not too attentive. Lovely outdoor setting, and they allow you to split bills! Definitely my favourite of the number of eateries I went to in Airlie Beach!

This review is for Salt Seafood Bar And Grill, Airlie Beach QLD

Great atmosphere, fun, casual dining with nicer-than-average menu and drinks (and associated prices). The seating is actually shared with a few other restaurants which is an interesting way to do business. Service was pretty slow, as we got through a bottle of wine between 3 people before our mains were served and we weren't drinking very quickly, but, mainly due to the wine, we didn't mind too much. Don't eat there if you have somewhere to go in a hurry. Food was good, nice fresh seafood, although almost all the seafood dishes come drowned in sauce. I had the catch of the day (mackeral) "champagne-style" ($28.50) and it was yum. The staff were nice, if slow. Best thing about the whole place is the atmosphere.

This review is for Odyssey On The Strand, Townsville QLD

verified email - 31 Oct 2013

I had breakfast at Odyssey on the Strand recently and it was lovely! I had the Greek breakfast, which was filling, delicious, and a little bit different. I loved having the option to have a breakfast full of variety with eggs or bacon (although the cooked pancetta was a little too salty for my taste). The "vine-ripened tomatoes", thick slices of haloumi and avocado side spread were delish! Coffee wasn't bad either, and service was great. Definitely recommend it and will go there again next time I'm in Townsville!

This review is for Tokyo Sushi Bar, Epping NSW

Cute & simple little Japanese restaurant, very prompt & attentive service, reasonable prices. DH and ! have been there a few times and always enjoy it, especially the quick service time compared to other Japanese restaurants we have been to. On the last visit I got a sashimi/sushi mixed order, DH got a set box, and we had some pork gyoza and tea to share - about $50 all up, yummy, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and general experience of eating there.

Noisy. So very, very noisy that my louder than average family struggled to hear each other speak. We got the Monday night all you an eat chicken, potato, salad and rice $20pp special - might be worth it if you are a BIG eater, but I am not, and I would not get that deal again. The chicken was slow to come out (fill you up on all the sides first?) and wasn't anything special, but it was good. None of the sides were exciting eating. Overall - the takeaway burgers and fries I have had from here are much better than the food and overall experience of eating in.

This review is for Rosie's Cafe Take Away, Galston NSW

verified email - 25 Jul 2013

Cheap and Cheerful! Rosie's isn't a lot to look at, but its clean, family-friendly, and quite good prices for surprisingly good food! The waitstaff didn't really know much about the food, and had to disappear into the kitchen to ask some basic questions, but were very pleasant and friendly. The pot pie is highly recommended.

This review is for Red Spoon Thai Restaurant, Castle Hill NSW

verified email - 25 Jul 2013

You can always count on super quick service at Red Spoon - they get your food to you FAST! Says a lot about the high volume of food they produce, and the high turnover of customers. It is LOUD and it is BUSY - not the place to go for a cosy night of conversation over thai! The food is mostly delicious, but the speed of preparation and the sheer number of staff working there means the quality can lapse and a cold piece of lamb not quite cooked through can slip out. Servings are not conducive to sharing - definitely smaller than your average thai, and also more expensive. $4 pp for a T2 green tea bag is a bit of a disappointment. But I will go back, because it is quick and easy and, like I said, mostly delicious.

This review is for Zest, Leura NSW

verified email - 25 Jul 2013

Fabulous service, yummy food - definitely worth looking that little bit beyond the main shopping strip for this Leura gem! I went with my husband and we had a lovely late lunch of the Portugese Chicken Sandwich and Lamb Shashlik in a cosy corner (standard cafe prices). There was a family there at the same time, and the kids looked quite well catered to with kid-friendly food and colouring in bits and bobs, while the parents enjoyed the adult side of the menu, and a glass of wine to boot.

This review is for Centennial Lodge Cottage, Blackheath NSW

verified email - 15 Apr 2013

An adorable rustic cottage, perfect size for 2 people and 2 dogs (yup - it's VERY dog friendly!), set on acreage in the Kanimbla Valley, only 15 mins from Blackheath in NSW. The setting is simply breathtaking, with horses in the paddock just over the fence (fence is NOT dog proof so you need to consider this with your dogs). Everything you need in the cottage for a quick getaway or a bit longer. We spent days walking around the paddocks with our pups, and chilling on the verandah or in front of the fire. Perfect time out. Reasonable 3G coverage so its not the middle of nowhere. A good flatscreen with DVD player and USB capabilities, but no tv coverage so BYO entertainment. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
