Don't order the "Mixed Seafood Basket" unless you have a large tolerance for greasy food. Normally the food here is average but edible, but this meal was far too greasy for our liking and lots was left on the plate.
Approximate cost: $28.00
Had a large filling fall out and they were able to see me the next day in one of their daily appointment slots kept for emergencies. Top quality work, very good dentist & professional staff.
I've since had some other work done and have to say these guys are a very well run operation! Young Scottish dentist is excellent IMO!
Approximate cost: $350.00 (first emergency appt)
Went there for lunch and ate in the restaurant rather than the takeaway. Delicious food, generous portions and a pleasant, friendly waitress! We had 1 entrée, 2 mains with 2 bowls of rice on the side.
Approximate cost: $55.00
Great place to purchase your seafood, nice, helpful people. Large variety of fresh and frozen seafood. Various sizes at competitive prices. This is not a restaurant!
Disappointed a little in the variety in our seafood basket, but it was all very fresh, tasty and nicely cooked. Fresh seafood was also available to take home and cook.
Approximate cost: $15.00
We shop for our groceries almost exclusively at the Pialba Aldi store and find the staff very friendly and have no problem navigating the store. We did 2 price comparisons taking our Aldi till tape to the other two supermarket chains and writing down the prices of comparable product, and found Aldi prices are about 35-40% cheaper than the other large supermarkets. So on our overall total, we saved 35-40% by shopping there. Aldi prides itself on selling a very high percentage of top quality Aussie made products, which we are very happy with.
We do not have problems not getting the size we want, as we do read the labels and the price per kilo or 100 gm is always clearly displayed on the price tag on the shelf.
We always have a good experience shopping there, and don't leave feeling ripped off, as we do shopping at some of the other stores.
For non prescription items, the prices here cannot be topped in Hervey Bay BUT we found that the Chemists made far too many mistakes on our scripts. Nothing life threatening, but we felt that when dispensing prescription drugs, multiple mistakes were not acceptable. We have moved to another pharmacy for our prescriptions, but still get most of our non-prescription items here. Staff on the floor are friendly and helpful.
New to Hervey Bay, Pillow Talk is a modern, well stocked store with friendly, attentive staff. Something in all price ranges on most items. Enjoyable shopping experience. We'll be back!
Jason Alexandre, one of two skin specialists at this clinic, does a complete and thorough check from head to toe and explains what he finds in layman's terms. No referral necessary. I can't comment on the other specialist at the clinic, because I have always seen Dr Alexandre.
Optus broadband/phone plans for the Hervey Bay area are pitiful. After 10 years with Optus, we switched to iiNet and got 20 times the download and our phone bill reduced by 40%. None of the cheap, high bandwidth plans on their website are available in Hervey Bay due to some agreement with Telstra as explained to me by Optus Customer Support. We're glad to be rid of them.
