This review is for Sgt Baker Fish And Chippery, Mernda VIC

We ordered take out from Sgt Bakers - the total came to $75 for 4 persons for fish and chips, a couple of scallops and one burger. While the portions of fish and chips were large, they were over salted and very average tasting. The burger was a fair size and quite pleasant - though not worth the price given there are other establishments in the area that serve similar products for much more reasonable prices. The scallops were the biggest disappointment- there was at least a cm of batter covering the scallop and it was not very tasty. Overall, disappointing - the local hotels and pubs serve burgers and fish and chips at much better prices for higher quality products.

We visited the pub on a public holiday, so the prices were higher than normal, but I imagine they would be well priced in general. The gentleman that seated us took note of our rather large pram and thoughtfully seated us with lots of room to manoeuvre which was appreciated. We had salads, chicken parmigiana, soup and a dip trio amongst our group and found the meals to be high quality and the portion sizes ample. The ambiance in the different areas of the pub was fabulous - the distinct bistro and pub areas suit would suit a romantic lunch, pub night out or leisurely family lunch. My only comment was that there was no access (that I saw) for wheelchairs/strollers and that the bathrooms did not have a baby changing area / wheelchair accessibility so I had to change the baby in the dining area, which is not very nice for me or the other diners.

We shop here quite regularly for our meat and produce. The fruit and vegetables are generally of a very high quality and nicely presented. The prices are quite good. The meat is well priced and of good quality. They also have a good selection of other products - pasta, cheeses etc. The service is generally quite good - but can depend on who happens to be working that day as I have had on occasion been ignored at the meat counter and on other days they can't go out of their way far enough to assist you. I would highly reccomend them for their high quality products and good prices - they also have ample parking which is great if you just need to duck in and grab a few items for dinner. Be aware that sometimes they only have one cashier open and depending on the register they use they may only take cash - I was not aware of this one day and they had only one register open and when I went to pay I was told I needed to pay cash - luckily I had some. Generally on weekends when it is busier they have both registers open and you can pay with cash or card.

My husband and I stayed here for one night in a 2 bedroom cabin with our 3 week old son and couldn't have expected better service or accommodation standards. The room was spacious and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable and some quirky items such as an old fashioned alarm / radio in the bedroom which we loved. Our on line reservation was easy to make and I found all the rules and regulations (including maximum occupancy) very clearly outlined. The staff were warm and engaging and assisted us with an early check in at 11 am so we were able to settle in - a real lifesaver with an infant to care for. Having worked in the hotel industry for over a decade I was prepared to wait until the 2 pm check in as I understand it allows the staff to properly clean the property, but appreciated the efforts they made to accommodate us The cabin was very clean and well stocked and maintained and our overall impression was that the staff took pride in maintaining the pool and grounds to a high level. The staff honestly seemed happy to work there and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Our experience was decidedly different from the one below and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this park - in fact we will be returning with family later this year.

I visited this shop after reading positive reviews on WOMO. It is located slightly off of Plenty road and is easy to access with lots of parking. I would wholeheartedly agree that the customer service is fantastic. The lady who served me was friendly & knowledgeable and answered several questions I had about the local area. My coffee was fantastic - I would highly recommend it. I did pick up several pre-wrapped "half" slices and was disappointed to find that they didn't seem very fresh when I unwrapped them at home - they were dry and crumbly. A shame as the full slices looked so fresh and inviting in the store so I wanted to take several samples home to share with my Mum. I would still recommend this cafe - but not the pre-wrapped slices.

This review is for TGI Friday's, Epping VIC

I have been to this TGI Fridays twice - once on my own and once with my husband and have been impressed with the customer service both times. As a Canadian, one thing that really irks me in many Australian restaurants is having to pay extra for ketchup, sour cream or tartar sauce - things that generally accompany certain dishes and are provided at no extra cost in Canada. At TGI Fridays they don't charge extra - they come with the meal - as they should ! That said the portions here are large (even too large in some cases) and flavourful. The food has been high quality both times I have visited. But, the best part is the friendly service - the wait staff seem happy to help and are perfectly attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to hungry people looking for a quality meal.

Recently went in to see about a maternity related issue. I saw Dr. Nawinda Artthanaphol - I was very impressed - she has an excellent manner with patients and is very knowledgeable. She asked lots of questions and offered numerous suggestions and generally put me at ease. Unfortunately her schedule is very limited as it would be great to have her as my full time physician for myself and my son. The reception team at Plenty Valley are very understanding and courteous and in general you are able to get an appointment the same day, although on one occasion I called first thing in the morning and they were booked up for the day. I would definitely recommend this clinic and the doctor I saw.

This review is for Hire for Baby, Flemington VIC

I have used Hire for Baby twice and both times have recieved exceptional service. I had my car seat installed and hired a capsule for my second car from the Mernda location. The seats were installed by Toni on a day with sweltering temperatures, all with a friendly smile and great humour. I felt confident that they were installed safely, and appreciated the extra time taken to answer my questions. I hired a dual pump from the Flemington Hire for Baby and it was delivered next day - again the customer service from Belinda has been great. I was able to extend the rental easily. I would recommend either Mernda or Flemington based on my experience

Very average. The night we went the place was about 2/3 full and the staff seemed run ragged. That said, the server we had was very warm, friendly and knew the menu by heart. The food was very average - for the price you would expect that it was higher quality. The portion sizes are large though and the menu family oriented in nature - would appeal to families with older kids (not highly spiced, just warm and filling) The worst part about the experience was unfortunately the other diners letting their children run amuck - screaming and dodging in and out around the poor service staff. While this is certainly not the fault of the restaurant, it made for a noisy, chaotic restaurant experience. Unfortunately we won't be back.

This review is for The Glen, Mernda VIC

A great place to go for coffee and cake ! I went in with my baby last week and the staff could not have been more friendly, helpful and just generally customer focused. The latte and slice were lovely - the latte hot (not lukewarm as at many places - a real pet peeve of mine), and the slice obviously fresh. The staff understand that the customers come first, and engage you in conversation, which is wonderful - (I am new in town so its nice to feel welcome) A great "small town" sort of feel at The Glen. Would recommend for afternoon tea, coffee with the ladies, or a quick take-a-way for anyone.
**Unfortunately I am adding a not so positive 2nd review of the Glen. I returned with my in laws last weekend for lunch and was very surprised at the difference in service and quality on the weekend. There was a mistake made in one of our orders - when it was pointed out the server made the excuse that "there was a mistake made between the register and the kitchen" no apology, no offer to make it right. She couldn't have cared less. One member of our group had his meal a full 10 minutes before the rest of us - again we mentioned this to the server - she wasn't interested. I had the pumpkin soup which was flavourless and only one side of bread was given although two soups were ordered and paid for. The only upside was the coffees were very good. The cost was $75 for the four of us - for poor service, frozen, processed chicken parma and terrible service. What an embarrassment - I won't be returning on the weekend that's for sure! Too bad - the service and quality during the week have always been superb when I visit.**
