I have been here quite a few times over the years - mostly with large groups for celebrations. We enjoy the fact that they have fishbowls, and that they have a happy hour around dinner (I think its 5:30-6:30)

This year we booked the room downstairs for a birthday celebration with about 30 guests. The staff were very helpful and attentive for the entire night. They came around for drink orders regularly, offered to help with the cake, took some group photos for us, etc.

The meals were served extremely quickly which was a big surprise given the large number of us - and they were steaming hot and fresh, as well as delicious as always.

It was not a problem for everyone to pay separately at the end and it is a huge bonus that they do not charge cakeage, yet they still provide plates and a knife for the cake.

I would strongly recommend the Prickly Cactus for any occasion but especially for group bookings.

I had a dinner for my birthday at Lam's. They staff were friendly, and had set a nice table up for us. They were quite welcoming and although our waitress was not the knowledgeable on the food (re: allergies) she went and checked with the chef.

They had a salad bar which is always enjoyed especially while we wait for the meals. The meals were reasonably priced, and served fairly quickly. My meal was quite nice but not amazing.

I am still keen to try one of their themed nights such as the Friday night Seafood night.

Our booking was at 7 (they asked us to come then instead of 6:30 due to them being busy earlier). They did not come over to the table for around 30 minutes - this was okay as we were waiting on other people but would have been nice for them to offer drinks at least once (and in fact surprisingly that they didn't as normally you are pestered)

Once they took the orders they said we could start on the Salad bar straight away which was great as we were getting hungry, and they brought us water for the table. The meals didn't take too long, and all meals came in quick succession. The steaks were cooked how we ordered and tasted great. Others on the table ordered off the 'light meals' $18 menu and the value of these meals was particularly great!

Also, they do gluten free chips so that is another bonus.

I would go back again.

Dale is a very friendly masseur who is knowledgeable about all sorts of injuries, aches and pains. You always get your money's worth as you never leave the door a minute early, and you are also often given exercises so you can assist your recovery at home. You can claim part of the cost back on private health insurance if you have it.

The only downfall is he is often hard to get into, and doesn't do many after hours appointments.

Approximate cost: $50

I was very pleased to find this gem in Melbourne on a recent trip. We waited for them to open as unfortunately google said they opened an hour earlier than they did. We ordered some smoothies which were made fresh quickly for us and were absolutely delicious, and well priced for the size given the quality ingredients. I can recommend the Salted Caramel one which they make dairy free with house-made coconut or almond milk. We planned on visiting again for a meal but unfortunately did not have time - I will definitely do so on a future trip to Melbourne though!

I had been really keen to go here on my trip to townsville but unfortunately only made it here once, about 30 minutes before their closing time. As they were closing soon they were only doing drinks (and other pre-made snacks like slices). We bought some smoothies which were made fresh quickly.

The staff were friendly and efficient. It was unfortunate we had not been able to eat more here but that was understandable given we visited so close to their closing time.

We planned to visit another restaurant in this area this night but as it was Friday night it was overcrowded and very loud with after work drinks so we chose to move to Jellyfish where it was a little quieter (in volume and customers). Our waiter was an absolute delight - he was very attentive (filling water glasses every 5 minutes) and answering questions (or going to check if he did not know).

The meals were quite expensive but the quality was high. I was impressed that they had a gluten free batter for fresh fish - batter is not something i would usually pick but I got it to try as it's something I've never had before. The selection of drinks was also expensive but of good quality.

I would recommend this restaurant - it also has an amazing view of Story Bridge which is so pretty at night.

Approximate cost: $45

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The staff were very knowledgeable about the meals and the ingredients in them. The whole menu is based on Paleo - it is gluten, dairy and refined sugar free. I am gluten and dairy free so it was amazing to have a choice of about 6 desserts when I usually have 0. Honestly I was pretty full after the main so I didn't really need a dessert, but given this rare opportunity to have one I had to!

The food was delicious and very fresh. The wait was reasonable. I expected the meals to cost more than they did so I was very pleased.

The only criticism was they would not leave a bottle of water on the table and it was hard to get refills in the water glasses.

This cafe was great for lunch that accommodated dietary needs. They had gluten free options available for most meals, including gluten free bread. They also had smoothies that they could do as dairy free. Both my BLT sandwich and berry smoothie were great. The price was a little expensive but only in line with the island prices. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable especially in food intolerance and allergies.

I came here while on holiday as my brother who is local recommended. I enjoyed the meal, and was pleased to be able to have an 'exciting' meal even though I am gluten free (often stuck with steak and veg) which was lime and chilli calamari. My grandparents were with us and were able to select from the seniors menu which was only $12 - such great value as their serves were just as big as the standard mains.
