This review is for Acacia Modern Japanese Dining, Gordon NSW

Acacia is a very refined Japanese dining experience, which is lovely to have so close to home! The service is excellent, polite, friendly, efficient, and all with a smile.

I have dined here a few times and tried several items from their menu and enjoyed everything! Most recently I had the chicken karaage udon, which is presented so beautifully (wish I could include a photo!) and tasted delicious. There was also so much chicken karaage I almost couldn't finish it!

We also had the salmon aburi as an entree and the sashimi was so fresh and delicious.

Prices are definitely on the higher end for a local restaurant, however I think this is reflected in the quality of service and food. The actual restaurant has a great ambiance and is licensed so there are lots of great drinks to choose from to enjoy with the meal!

This review is for Porto Azzurro, Gordon NSW

Porto Azzuro is a great local restaurant for dining with friends and family! The pizzas and pastas are delicious - I would definitely recommend the mushroom pasta if you like creamy sauces. We also heard that the desserts are superb, although we were a bit too full to try them this time. We found that service although attentive was not particularly friendly (apart from the lovely female waitress who brought our drinks) but that's just being picky. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will visit again.

This review is for Menya Noodle Bar, Sydney NSW

Menya is a great, value for money Japanese restaurant which is very popular for office workers at lunch time! I definitely recommend getting there early to avoid queues and get a seat. Their ramen is good, but definitely not the best I've had. Their side dishes such as the takoyaki and gyozas were delicious!

Delicious fresh takeaway sushi at a great price point - perfect to grab for lunch if you work in the area. Also includes free miso soup if you spend over $10

This review is for Kangnam BBQ, Hornsby NSW

We visited Kangnam BBQ in Hornsby on a Monday night and were seated straight away. The menu looked great and the premises is very big and clean. We ordered the mild beef and mushroom hot pot and also a plate of dumplings. Something to note in this restaurant is that the waiters are not ignoring your when you're ready to order! All you have to do is press the bell button on your table and someone will be over straight away.

The assortment of side dishes arrived quickly and they were all delicious. The kimchi was fantastic and spicy. The hot pot was amazing! The soup was so tasty and the right amount of spiciness for me. They recommend the hot pot for 2-3 people but it could definitely feed 4 easily in my opinion! Us three couldn't finish it as there was so much tasty beef, mushrooms and vegetables. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again for hot pot or BBQ, which the table was having next to us - the meat looked very fresh!

This review is for Chimichuri, Chatswood NSW

This cafe is an amazing new addition to Chatswood which in my opinion has some decent cafes but nothing stand out. Situated on the business district side of Chatswood, it's not in a location that gets a lot of foot traffic on weekends. Personally, I found out about this cafe on Instagram because their dishes were visually very appealing! It looks like their online marketing is paying off as well as it was quite busy when I visited on Saturday.

We ordered to Piggy Mac bowl - macaroni, béchamel, braised pork, bacon, chorizo and mushroom, which was DELICIOUS and I would definitely return and order again. We also had the peruvian bowl - quinoa, grilled steak, feta, roasted vegetables, pepita seeds, citrus sauce, which was a lovely warm and filling salad!

Can't wait to return and try the rest of the menu!

Love this cafe! Similar to other reviews the shop is easy to miss! I would highly recommend the pandan buttermilk pancakes served with coconut ice cream, fresh berries, pecan crumble and salted coconut sugar syrup. It's really delicious and surprisingly its not sickeningly sweet.

This review is for Est., Sydney NSW

Est is a stunning dining experience in Sydney. Set upstairs from the Establishment, the interior is beautifully elegant with high ceilings, regal columns and chandeliers, its the perfect setting for a special occasion.

The restaurant offers a degustation for $185pp, or a chef's menu with set prices based on number of courses. We opted for 3 courses at $135.

For entree I had the scallops, steamed murray cod for main, and valrhona chocolate pave for dessert (although I wish I got the passionfruit souffle which I tried and loved!) All three course were delivered with exceptional service, one waiter for each dish coming out so that every plate was placed on the table at the same time.

All dishes were a refined an elegant combination of flavours and very pleasant. I will be brutally honest I wasn't blown away (as I like to be with a fine dining experience) however the overall experience was really lovely and I would recommend this restaurant.

One of the only decent nail salons in Sydney CBD in my opinion! My go-to salon is closer to home although I work in the city so it's convenient to have them done every now and then after work. The technicians are gentle and I always receive a seamless acrylic infill. They also have a large range of colours and polish is always neatly applied.

This review is for Rosedale Cottage, St Ives NSW

verified email - 20 Oct 2016

Rosedale cottage is an elegant French restaurant which is a lovely addition to St ives among the Thai restaurants, takeaway chicken/pizza, etc. It has a lovely warm, intimate and friendly atmosphere with an equally as friendly owner who happily greeted each person and showed us to the table.

Between 4 of us we ordered 3 entrees to share; the seared scallops with vegetables and shellfish bisque emulsion, the escargot, prawn and wild mushroom cassoulet with garlic butter, and the roquefort cheese bavarois served with caramelised fig, beetroot and quince puree. The cheese was definitely a highlight for me, so light and smooth it tasted delicious with the accompaniments.

For main I chose the crispy duck confit on cinnamon sweet potatoes, endive, macadamia and beetroot. The duck was cooked to perfection, so very tender and pink inside although it was a tad salty for my liking (still delicious!!) Unfortunately we were all a little too full for dessert however I've heard that the bombe alaska is lovely. Would definitely revisit for a more refined local dinner.
