A sports shop with most of the items you will need for regular fitness trainings.
The staff is very young, and may not be the most knowledgeable.
But prices are low so I would come back here.
Approximate cost: $200/runners
Darby Park provides serviced apartments for short or longer term stays.
The staff is the friendliest I have ever met.
Rooms are satisfactory, you will find everything you need.
Location is fantastic: in the middle of Subiaco
Approximate cost: $135/night
Fine Asian foodstore that will stock most of your supplies.
They are conveniently located within Broadway Shopping Centre.
Not cheap, not expensive, just average
A friendly little fresh-food, local farmers market in Subiaco.
They have some organic fruits and veggies, but it is mostly just locally produced.
Stalls also include olive oil, coffee stalls, breads and cakes.
They often have live music and yummy foods for sale.
Go here for a relaxing Saturday morning
Fresh food markets in Subiaco.
Cheap fruit and veggies, particularly at the end of the day.
But it can be crowded then, so be prepared.
Try the bakery: they have awesome sourdough breads!
Another tip is the nut-shop, all the way at the end of the markets. You can scoop your own nuts and dried fruits.
One of those Dome coffee shop chains.
They do reasonable coffee, not the best. Prices are as high as anywhere in Perth.
The only reason I go here is because they provide internet for 45 min with a coffee.
Approximate cost: $5.5
Shop at your local IGA and support small shop holders.
The drawback is that prices are a bit higher.
But this is a friendly supermarket around the corner, and they often have specials that are worthwhile.
Advice to the shop-owner: stock more home-brands for cheaper shopping
I don't know about these guys. They seem good as mechanics, but are also keen to sell you new parts. They advised me to completely recondition my engine, and wanted to replace a lot of parts. Their advice would have costed me $4,500.
I went somewhere else for a second opinion and the other mechanics a) didn't consider it necessary to replace all the parts and b) could replace those parts for a lot less money.
All in all: a good mechanic, but pretty dear. Go there if you have plenty of cash, are attached to your car and want to keep it in top-notch shape.
Approximate cost: $1685
A great Commonwealth Bank branch: they have friendly staff, and lots of them so the waiting times are usually short.
And if you do need to wait: there's a free coffee machine to make the wait worthwhile.
Just a bank. I like that this is a local bank, with lots of ATMs around WA, plus free ATM use of Commonwealth banks.
The branch in Subiaco is good, although I had to wait a while. A down-side is the lack in computers to do your internet banking at the branch.
The branch in Nedlands is a bit small, and doesn't feel as professional.
