We had our Wedding Ceremony followed by drinks at Yering Farm before moving to another Yarra Valley restaurant for a more intimate reception. The outlook is stunning from the flat grassy plateau outside of the cellar door and the rustic farm feel made for wodnerful photos. Vicky was incredibly organised and wonderful at helping us determine what we wanted, then assisting to make it all happen smoothly on the day. We had a wet weather contingency lpan which we fortunately didn't have to run with.

We had our wedding reception at teh Black Paddock Restaurant at Evelyn County Estate after a couple of nice lunch and dinner experiences. The food is always high quality and the staff attentive and professional.

We had a few meetings to organise details for the wedding and felt everything was well-communicated and organised. There was ample room for us to put our own spin on their usual function routine which we appreicated. They were also flexible regarding our arrangements for music and dietary needs. It was all in all a very happy wedding experience becuase there was no stress about how it would all run. On the day there was a little confusion caused by lack of communication (our best man took it upon himself to seat everyone and introduce us when our originial plan had been to mingle with guests informally while canapes were served), but we were the only ones to know and it was handled very well by staff, the only downside being we skipped the delicious canapes!

On my way home from work I will often stop in grab a few bits and pieces - it's great for fresh produce and also if you're after one or two special things for a dinner party or gift. The Yarra Valley Pasta, YV Ice Cream, Phillipa's range are all fabulous, but not cheap - kind of ironic that the local things cost the most!

Always delicious! I regularly buy my lunch from the Station Street Food Store and always tell people it's "the kind of food you would make for your own lunch if you had skill and time!". It has a simple home-made feel, but always quality ingredients and always tasty! Their food has a few steady favourites always there and otherwise changes day to day and week to week depending on what's in season.

Their cake window deserves a whole entry on it's own and is really well priced for such great fare!

We caught up with friends over dinner recently at The Commoner following it's review in The Age. The service was great - attentive without being annoying and helpful in selecting meals without being pushy. The food was lovely and fresh - a different twist to many meals (ie. gnocchi was two enormous pieces rather than lots of small ones) - all tasted great. The place has a great vibe and although a bit chilly with back up against teh front window (it was a freezing night) the atmosphere was warm and fun.

Tea Leaves is so much fun! From the moment I stepped in the door it was a great experience on all the senses. Foraging through all their tea pot and cup stock was highly amusing and the feeling of finding the perfect gift (plus maybe one for yourself) is well worth the trip to Yarra Glen (or their sister store in Sassafras up Mt Dandenong).

You can't beat a good cuppa and we foudn everything requried for one at Tea Leaves!

Always a pleasure to eat at the Twisted Vine. John and Linda Corcoran are great hosts and the food is generally local based fare complimented by great wines.

The large restaurant has been great for family catch-ups and the atmosphere is always relaxed and comfortable. The fireplace is lovely in winter and they have a gorgeous outlook over the hills.

This is a funny combination supermarket - it's great for stopping in to grab a few items to make a meal and has some really random items (such as locally smoked kangaroo cabana), but the prices of everyday items like fruit and vegetables make a bit too pricey to be my regular local stop for the weekly shop.

We were experienced dog owners with a new kitten. We foudn Kitten Kindy to be a lot of fun and our kitten is now a well socialised cat with a few cool tricks like coming when he's called, sitting when he's told and he also benefitted from the regular travel at a young age - he's a breeze to take to the vet now.

We learnt lots about the health requirements of young kittens and how to interpret their behaviour. Kitty Kinder was also really fun!

I had a cruelty case puppy that had come through the RSPCA Shelter after having been seized from it's original owner by the RSPCA Inspectors. The socialisation my pup gained in these classes was really important to her development and also helped to educate my partner and I about owning a young dog (including health requirements) and set us up with the skills needed for dog training and trouble shooting normal puppy behvaiours like mouthing, jumping and toilet training.
