Don't be mistaken, this is not a fine dining venue. The decor is basic, the staff a bit abrupt, and you may find yourself seated at a table with strangers during busy periods. It's far from romantic. However...the food is fresh, flavoursome, timely, cheap, and plentiful, and there's something quite energising about the general hubbub that is Thanh Dat.

Had a mid-week lunch with a colleague here. The beef noodle soup was fabulous, as were the stir-fries and noodles. Pleasant decor; not many customers at this time of day, so service was fine. Reasonable pricing. Far surpasses any of the other dining options Hampton Park has to offer.

This upbeat busy eatery has a smart decor. Service is fine. Menu looks good; the food can be a bit inconsistent.

Engaged the services of Leafbusters for installation of gutter-protection guard to keep pests out of the roof, and debris out of the guttering. They promptly responded to my contact, and provided an on-site quote. Initial quote for their premium product was exorbitant (around $5000 for a 2BR townhouse). Even their non-premium product was expensive; they offered me a 30% discount when it became apparent I wasn't going to proceed with the initial quote. They were able to install within a day, and didn't need me to be home. Job looks neat, and not too obvious from street level. Time will tell if it's effective...

Had brunch with a friend here. The decor is smart, but it was very noisy, and I think the waiter mis-heard me ordering bacon to go with my eggs. When the dish came out and I alerted him to the missing bacon, he just walked away. He emerged sometime later (when I'd almost finished eating my eggs and toast) with a plate of bacon! No apologies, no attempt to compensate for the error. The food here is very nice, but over-priced, and staff are just a little too aloof and cool.

Liked the golden woody decor. Food was lovely and of good quality. Tried some dishes I hadn't had before, such as the horenso (spinach with sesame sauce) which was really nice, and made the evening a bit more special. The prices are a bit up there, so perhaps not somewhere I'd go often, but good for an occasion.

Great food, warm and comfortable ambience (except the toilets, which are outside and I think shared by several shops). Staff are professional and reasonably attentive. Nice to be able to BYO wine; makes for a very pleasant and affordable dining experience.

Nice ambience, and wait staff are pleasant and gentle-mannered. Food is delicious, though prices are creeping up. Like the BYO option. Good little local.

Standard family-run suburban Chinese restaurant. Bit of a Beaumaris icon. Food is quite good, no surprises on the menu. Decor is in need of an update. All in all, a good place to have as your local, but not for showing off to your friends!

Had dinner with a friend on a Saturday night. The restaurant was disconcertingly quiet. Decor is lovely and warm. The menu is pretty meaty and unadventurous, and some of the pricing of those little extras that complete a meal (such as the coffee and the meagrely portioned bread) is a bit mean. Service is fine, and the food okay.
