My expierence was great at the castle, despite it being a bit expensive. It was fun exploring what a medieval castle would really be like, and interesting to learn about ye old lifestyle. The doll displays were strange, but I prefered the ones that were nursery ryhmes - maybe make this as a different section. The layout of the castle was quite confusing also. Although, going to the top tower was fun and had great views of the town!
An average expierence, we arrived for an overnight stay, and asked for a room for a couple and a child. The queen bed was two singles sheeted together, so there was a little 'ditch' in the middle of the bed, and the child's bed was a fold out sofa. After asking the staff to dress the sofa bed in the lounge room, there was only a little room to move around the room. The views of the harbor was spectacular.
The hotel itself was very beautiful, and the room designs were nice, but the car parking was a little far away, as our room was in the middle of the resort, and they didnt have the correct pillows from the 'pillow menu'.
I loved staying at this resort. There were so many services on offer of such a high quality. I went snorkeling for all of the three days that I stayed there for, and I saw starfish, sharks, turtles, stingrays, coral, and heaps of colorful fish. I had an excellent time.
Driving through Mareeba, my family and I went to this place thinking it was just going to be a tourist centre. But we were blown away by the attached museum with an optional donation entry. It displayed all of Australia's history - from ancient Indigenous Australians to the gold rush, from early 1900's schooling and transport to the tobacco industry, it had it all. Was interactive and fun!
Approximate cost: $Donation entry
I went there quickly just to get a prescription of Insulin, which I really needed at the time. After waiting for more than half an hour, I was let in for two minutes so the doctor could write a prescription. The small "pharmacy" they had there didn't have many drugs available, so I was unable to get my medication. However, on the flip side, there is a range of specialty doctors and the clinic is bulk billing.
There was this nice German lady that served us I think her name was Jana, and she asked us what we wanted. I ordered a big breakfast. It arrived quickly and it was amazing to eat. The atmosphere in the restaurant/cafe/bakery had a beautiful eclectic and boho feel. There was also all these little cakes and pastries that you can buy. Well done!
We went there today and wow! Its located in an excellent position with outdoor dining in the rainforest and plenty of shade. Dad ordered a latte and gave this face. I asked him "Oh no, is it bad?", and he replied with "no this is excellent!". I had a chocolate chip muffin which was so warm and nice. Surprisingly, there was also these big monitors or lizards that hung around and we took heaps of photos! The customer service was pretty good as well.
My parents and I went to the Cairns Branch to transfer some money to an account with a different company, but were unable to do so. They helped us out and explained what we needed to do in order to do this in an effective manner. We also ended up sorting out an interest saver account, and the lady that helped us was exceptional. Best bank service I have ever received.
I went on there today from a friend, thinking it was going to be some tacky spamming website, but it was the exact opposite. It linked me to so many different websites from health and beauty (that's what I'm in to), and it was so clear and simple to use. I actually got linked to this site from freestuff.com!
The only drainer is that it still keeps expired links and deals which shows up.
