A really big range of menu choices, not just noodles that's for sure! Chinese meals and appetizers also -- I like their won-tons, mystery stuff inside of them but tastes delicious. BIG $1 dim sims, I prefer them fried as sometimes the steamed ones get too cold when driving home.

My best advice is if your getting noodles, ask for a extra sauce to be added - just sometimes they don't put enough on and it isn't as great - but you get it in a HUGE bowl which is great value as most dishes are $10~ range!

Approximate cost: $10

Ballarat Leagues Club is a great place if you got a large group, the last 2 visits to the BLC were with groups of 20+ people.

Its got a lot of positives, meals were good overall and arrived in a reasonable amount of time - and serving each table at once made it great to avoid those awkward pauses you get waiting of other peoples meals to come.

The place has a kids corner with TV's and game consoles to play on, lets the kids have some fun while the adults talk.

Only draw back I'd say is the prices are a bit on the high side and its a pokies trap venue - save your money and don't bother... but venture in for a free coffee / hot chocolate from the automatic machine... I've even seen them pass around free finger food, all to sway the 'punters' to keep feeding the pokie machines.

Approximate cost: $21-30

This place is a great Sunday visit every once in a while. I know a lot of people visit every single week but honestly you tend to see the same old stores trying to flog off the same old items and it would get pretty boring.

My best recommendation is wait for summer or for a good sunny weekend... if its raining then half the stall holders wont bother coming out, the best trash and treasures are when the whole outdoor areas are chock-o-block full with shall holders.

You never know what you'll find.

It's hard to review this place, it was really straight down the line with good and bad points.

The mains were quite nice, nice tender beef in the beef and black bean. The 'delicious chicken' main was good but a little dried out. Chicken and corn soup had ACTUAL strips of chicken in it, that's a plus!

Our entree gave mixed feelings to our table, I think the san choy bow was too greasy for my liking, it was dripping grease - but others didn't mind the taste and was enjoyable.

Service was fast, really fast... any time we emptied a plate it was taken away seconds later - it makes you feel rushed in a way. The server wasn't much to talk to or interact with, he did everything he had to do for the table don't get me wrong... Its really hard to explain in words but the vibe felt like 'quickly, eat food, pay for food, leave'... like you were cattle.

Prices were pretty average, a little expensive if you didn't stick to the banquet.

Its pretty much the same generic Chinese restaurant you've probably had since you were a kid... that's the best way of describing it.

Approximate cost: $18-25

Great value lunch specials with loads of variety. Each lunch meal comes with a free beer, wine or soft drink and prices were quite reasonable indeed at $18 for a porterhouse steak with chips and salad and your choice of sauce.

Fast service, which was quite impressive for a busy room.

Meals were quite good for the value, nicely presented.

I'll definitely be returning again for another lunch time, recommended!

Approximate cost: $16 to $18 lunches

This review is for Greens Hotline Bakery, Ballarat VIC

Its hard to find a cheap lunch in the middle of the Bridge Mall sometimes. Green's Bakery does a good roll (salad plain -- chicken and salad -- ham and salad) and it beats the cafe's it terms of price AND quality.

I've been told by my other half if your a fan of Cornish Pasties then definitely buy one from here next time your down the Mall. Otherwise I like their sausage rolls, a nice flaky pastry does it for me.

They have all the things you'd expect in a bakery, freshly baked or discounted yesterdays bake is in a wire tray.

Next time you need to do a big grocery shop, take a visit to Curtis Fresh first for all your fruit and vegetable needs.

There is no way you can beat some of their specials that are advertised in the local free paper... like 9 Cents a kilo for Carrots!

Ok granted some were split, and looked half the length of normal carrots... BUT you pick. Our pet rabbit doesn't mind a split carrot.

Its pretty much everything you need in fruit and veg... sometimes after 5pm can be a bit of a long line to the counter, sometimes you wish they had one more person at checkout just to make it quicker.

This review is for Gee Cees Cafe Bar, Ballarat VIC

The best way to summarize my experience at Gee-Cee's is pretty much a felling of "Meh..." - While we didn't experience anything horrible with our table of fours meals... there wasn't much 'wow' factor coming out.

Everything feels like its got a premium price attached... being right on Sturt St is maybe the hook, but there wasn't anything exciting... The vegetable spring rolls were nice and fresh, But I'd expect that for $16 bucks for 6 of them.

My Chicken Pad Thai: "Meh.." first few bites with some fresh coriander we alright, but then it was just unflavoured, boring and just gave you the "I'm sick of eating this" Moment you shouldn't get at a restaurant that you pay good money for. This also was the case for two other members at the table who ordered a chicken pasta dish, nothing happening flavour wise.

Service was a little lacking, took some time to bring our drinks... Mains took their sweet time - and there wasn't any reason to justify it as the place wasn't that busy and it was a dinner service in the middle of the week.

All up, expensive pub meals... not the worst place to have a meal, but there wasn't anything that caught my attention that would make me crave to return.

Approximate cost: $20-25+

Love the pizza's, its good quality bases and not swimming in grease like the pizza chain stores - the chicken tandoori is an all time favourite - greater when you get it with extra sauce, otherwise the Marinara is good value also - a nice seafood mix.

For something different try their chicken and mushroom gnocchi pasta, generous size with all the sauce you could want.

Very clean place, people all wearing hair nets and gloves when making the pizzas.

Good value all around, have meal deal specials that suit singles and even families, chances are you'll have some left over for breakfast!

Approximate cost: $3 Pizzas for $20

This review is for Dana's Honey Ham Cafe, Sebastopol VIC

It may feel a little strange to walk into a butcher and fruit and vegetable shop and expect to sit down and enjoy a tasty meal - but if your a fan of delicious sandwiches with full flavour I'd recommend Dana's Cafe.

The smoked turkey is a great choice, full smokey flavour with a bit of spice mixed it (not hot spice) - really nice and moist meat.

They also do breakfast meals for relatively cheap to, something I'll eventually like to try for myself.

Next time you get bored of the same old sandwich shops up the road - take a visit to Dana's Honey Ham and grab a smoked turkey in a combo deal ($8 to $12 depending on deal).

Approximate cost: $8-$12
