This review is for Twin Bays Winery, Yankalilla SA

verified email - 17 May 2008

This is one of my favourite little boutique wineries which is located between Normanville and Yankalilla on the Fleurieu Peninsula. It is a family run venture specialising in distinctive Reds, cool crisp Whites and unique original signature wines. Not only are the wines an absolute delight, so is the service and atmosphere, all topped off with a spectacular panorama formed by rolling hills, valleys and coastal plains, with the rugged Rapid Bay and the more tranquil Lady Bay, as its centre piece. On the odd occasion when they haven't been open I was able to purchase their wines at the bottle shop of the Normanville Hotel.

This review is for Nappy World, Albert Park SA

Having a two year old who's not quite toilet trained I'm still having to buy not only nappies but training pants and baby wipes. Luckily these guys have it all and all at fantastic prices. As the name would suggest they have an extensive range of nappies with cartons of factory seconds available at a greatly reduced cost. Out of the hundreds of 'seconds' nappies I've purchased there's probably only been four in total that were actually what I'd consider a 'second' and that was only due to one of the adhesive tabs to do up the nappy was missing. They also carry an extensive range of baby wipes as well as baby washes, shampoos, lotions and feeding accessories etc.

This review is for Sfera's Park Suites & Convention Centre, Modbury SA

We had one of our social clubs dinners here and it was a fantastic night and great value for money. They offer a dinner, drinks and entertainment package where we were treated to a delicious three course meal, live entertainment and a five hour drinks deal. The staff were fast efficient, fun, and friendly and got in on the act by wearing various wigs relevant to the nights theme.

This review is for Yummy Yiros, Semaphore SA

The name sais it all! I'm not exactly sure what else they have on offer food wise because when I go there it's with one thing in mind. What I would consider to be the BEST yiros in Adelaide. Lamb, chicken or combination they're always the freshest and best tasting that I've had and they even do a kids size for only $5.80.

This review is for Salvation Army/Salvos Store, Adelaide SA

verified email - 16 May 2008

As with all the Salvos second hand clothing and items stores these guys have pretty much anything and everything you'd hope to find in a pre-loved goods shop, from clothes, shoes and jewellery to wine glasses, pots & pans as well as furniture. Every week they have a half price special on a particular coloured price tag as all the price tags are different colours so if it's half price purple tag week then look for the purple tags. They also have 20% off every Tuesday for concession card holders and if your purchase is $10 or over you're able to pay using a credit card.

This review is for Vinnies Family Centre/Shop, Taperoo SA

Out of all the Saint Vinnie shops this would have to be my personal favourite. It's only a small shop but on the many occasions I've visited I've usually managed to find a few treasures and they quite often have half price promotions. My latest finds were a Little Mermaid branded tricycle for $8.00 and a pair of Diana Ferrari leather court shoes in immaculate condition for only $3.50.

This review is for Farmer Joe's Barn, Port Adelaide SA

verified email - 16 May 2008

Whenever I need fruit or veg I always go to Farmer Joe's as they continuously have the lowest prices. They have all the usual fruit and veg you'd find at a greengrocers as well as an extensive range of other foods such as cold meats and salamis in the service deli area as well as dried fruits and nuts, cheeses, eggs, bread rolls, pasta, cooked chooks, as well as canned foods such as tomatoes and a range of pasta sauces, olives, sauces, jams etc. More an all round continental store than just your average grocer.

This review is for Vili's Cafe, Mile End SA

verified email - 16 May 2008

The thing I love most about this Cafe is that it's open twenty four hours a day seven days a week, and from memory they were only closed for a couple of days over the Christmas period. Drinks wise they serve everything from coffee to beer and wine(although you must purchase something hot to eat to have alcohol) along with an extensive range of cold drinks from flavoured mineral waters to the usual soft drinks and flavoured milks. On the food front you can have as little as a muffin or bowl of chips, either with or without gravy(but their gravy is really yummy)to a delicious serving of their marinated chicken which is served either on a bed of rice or with chips and salad. Not to forget their main claim to fame which are their pies and pasties all made on the premises and I've lost count of the times I've stood staring(and salivating)at the assortment of cakes in the glass display counter deciding which tasty treat to try. They have a spacious inside dining area as well as a semi enclosed outdoor area for those of us that haven't kicked the nicotine habit.

Approximate cost: $10.00

This review is for Marine Tyres, Peterhead SA

verified email - 14 May 2008

Every time I've needed tyres I would do the usual ringing around for the best price but not anymore. I usually only buy retreads and these guys have consistently had the lowest prices. They're fast, friendly and efficient and although the waiting area is not on a par cleanliness wise with one of the bigger tyre retailers I'm more than happy to forgo the spic n span to save myself some money.

If you're looking for a gift for the person that has everything or that likes something a little alternative then this is the place to go. They have just about everything from incense and essential oils to hand crafted furniture, clothes, cushions and covers, trinket boxes, scarves, blankets, curtains(the list goes on)you name it, chance are they have it. They have a great range of incense(which is the main reason I go there)with special prices for multiple purchases, the shop always smells amazing and has a very comforting atmosphere(my normally rambunctious 2yo settles almost upon entering)and the staff are always warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful.
