This business is housed in the old town picture-theatre, with a wooden platform entry into the store, very high ceilings, and a stage at one end of the shop (yes, a stage). The place just oozes charisma and charm. The shelving and fixtures are olde-world as well, but that only adds to the character. There is a geat range of groceries, and household and hardware items as well, plus some great little finds, like local produce items etc. This store is also the town newsagency. The proprietors are a very friendly couple. There is a fantastic mural of a bushranger scene from 150 years ago, painted along the whole outside wall of the building, plus others on other buildings nearby. And a couple of suspicious-looking characters made of metal and springs and various other parts, standing at the front of the store.
Well worth stopping for a look and a browse.

Eugowra is a beautiful little town, with heaps of character. The Central Hotel is a lovely old 2 storey country pub, right in the centre of town. We were travelling through, and stopped to look at some fantastic murals of the old bushranger days painted on the walls of several buildings in the town. Advertised outside this pub were '10 meals for $10', so we decided to go in for lunch. Meals included sweet chilli or hamburger or schnitzel burgers and wedges, prawn cutlets with chips and salad, chicken schnitzel with salad or vegies, fish or salt & pepper squid with salad and rump with salad or vegies (huge), etc. All were generous servings and cooked very nicely. We sat in the front bar looking out a window over the town and bridge, there were a couple of other areas to eat also. I believe they have accomodation on the 2nd floor. Service was quick and friendly. The pub, licensee, locals and atmosphere of the place was great. Real good old country- hospitality feel.
And check out the second barmaid behind the counter. She doesnt do much work, and probably wasnt dressed entirely appropriately for bar work, but certainly attracted attention, and provided a good laugh (you will have to visit to see what I mean).

They have just moved location into the new Woolworths Centre on South Terrace. The new store is really nice, open and bright. They still have a good range of jewellery. I bought a watch, good range to choose from. Staff are friendly and helpful, and I didnt find them pushy, which is good.

A really nice little tourist shop selling a range of the local produce, such as dried fruits and nuts etc. Nicely packaged, make good gift packs. Also nice to grab something to nibble, and you dont have to feel so guilty, because a lot of it is healthy.

They have a great range of plants and pots at what I thought were very reasonable prices, quite a few specials and reduced prices on pots. The plants look nice and healthy and well cared for.

We bought a takeaway meal. Good value and a nice meal . Good quality ingredients used. A nice, large, bright shop, with several tables to eat on the premises. The shop and cooking area was clean and well presented. All the items listed on the menu board seemed to be reasonably priced.

This review is for Currajong Caravan Park, Parkes NSW

We stayed for several nights at a powered site. The park is on the highway, but the sites are back a bit, so road noise wasnt too bad. The new young family owners are doing a lot of work on the park, including a solid fence along the road, so I would expect the noise will be further reduced. Most caravan sites are drive-thru, nicely lawned and reasonably level. We did not have to use wheel chocks. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. Amenities block is very neat and clean. New cabins are also being built, the sign at the front advertises them as starting from $55 a night, and they appear to be fairly new. We enjoyed our stay here, genuine country hospitality, at a reasonable tarrif.

Approximate cost: $25 per night for 2 people

This is the Parkes information centre and souvenir shop, but as well as this for a $10 admission, you can also see The Kings Castle Elvis Exhibit, Parkes Motor Museum, Henry Parkes Museum and Pioneer Park Antique Machinery. First you walk through several displays of Elvis Presley memorabilia, including various original outfits, some are quite spectacular. Also rings, letters and all sorts of things owned by Elvis, the Colonel, Priscilla and others associated with Elvis. Next is the motor museum section, which features Elvis' actual last car he drove plus many other early cars from Aussie roads, including Holdens, Fords, Jags, Austins etc. etc. Even an orange Bambino. Plus quite a number of motor bikes. All in pristine condition, beautifully kept and displayed. Then onto the museum, manned by local volunteers, all array of household items from yesteryear, then outside to the machinery exhibits, including farm machinery, tractors, trucks etc. Heaps to see, even an old railway carriage and rebuilt schoolhouse from a small outlying area. The buildings in which the displays are housed are very modern and pleasant to be in. Good value for $10, we spent a couple of hours, and probably still didnt see it all.

Approximate cost: $10 per person

Fuel price competitive with the rest of town, but the service wasnt so good. The gentleman at the counter before me received a piercing look (I dont know what the poor old gentleman did), and when I was served, no please or thankyou, or friendly smile, just a continued chewing of gum by the disinterested young lady. Food was being served to travellers, to be fair, I did not eat there myself, but the staff attitude would have persuaded me to leave and try elsewhere. Not inviting, but maybe this was one staff member having a bad day. Hope so, anyway.
