Wow, one of the best takeaway shops we have ever been to! And we have been to a lot all over Australia. The shop is clean, tidy, fresh and inviting. The staff are pleasant, service is fast. I had a chicken, chips and salad pack. My wife had chicken and veg. (which even had mashed potato in it. My salads were very tasty, freshly made, I would guess. And the servings were very generous. It was so good, we returned for lunch the next day and had chicken kebabs, again very tasty. We will definitely use again when visiting Mt Gambier.

Friendly service. Stopped for tea at 8pm (open to 9pm) on our way to Mt Gambier, and the lady behind the counter was very pleasant. It is a nice big clean store, and has toilet facilities, unlike many Subways.

Had a very nice meal in the bistro. Service was great, and meals arrived quickly. Nice big eating area, well lit, warm and comfortable. They accept Ambassador cards, which saved us $15 off our meal. Would use again.

Stayed for 3 nights. The room was very clean and a good size. Nicely cleaned and freshened up every day. Furniture and fittings were not brand new, but were well maintained and comfortable. Even though it is located on the Highway, it was not at all noisy. The owners were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The 10c per litre discount fuel voucher for the service station next door was a nice bonus. Very happy with this accomodation for the price.

We spent a week here. The units are very nice, have all the fittings and facilities you need. The unit could have been a bit cleaner. It was hygienic, but a bit more attention to detail, like dust in harder to reach spots and kitchen grease on ceiling etc, would have been nice. But, that's being picky!
The resort facilities are fantastic! Indoor heated pool and spa, sauna, plus 2 outdoor pools. There was a tennis court, half-court, mini-golf course, games room, table tennis, pool table etc. etc. And a fantastic gym, with really top-notch equipment and bikes for hire. (plus movie channels on TV). So much to do, without even leaving the resort! Great for families, and those that don't want to just sit.
There's plenty to do in the area too, with the River Murray and Lake Mulwala about 1km away (as is the main street).

Approximate cost: $1394 for a 4to6 person condo for a week. (off-peak)

Stopped for lunch while travelling through. The food was very nice, well prepared. The cafe is clean and we sat outside on the verandah in the main street, which was very pleasant. Not like the city, where it is crammed and people trying to get through, this is a quiet, small country town. Friendly staff (as are the locals), and the prices were very reasonable. This was a nice stop after a long drive.
Proved once again to me that there are some great businesses in the smaller towns too, that are well worth checking out. And they are usually extra friendly, because they genuinely appreciate your business.

Approximate cost: $very reasonable

Nice location, on the foreshore of the town, but I thought it was more expensive than other parks we have been to of a similar quality. Facilities were clean and adequate, but nothing outstanding.

Approximate cost: $a little overpriced

Tim does a tremendous job. He converted a shed into an extra room for us. His ideas are terrific, he comes up with great ways to solve any problems, and to do things the best way, but never compromises on safety and doing the best job possible. He kept us well informed on the progress of the job, and ALWAYS turned up when he said he would. And his value-for-money was exceptional. I am tight on the pennies, but I had to admit that I was very happy with his quotes. I can give him nothing but praise.

We really enjoyed this tour. It went for about an hour and it took us in a lift down in the pumping station to the edge of the Blue Lake. This is really the closest you can get to the water in the lake, and was a spectacular way to see the lake, rather than just looking from the lookouts at the top. They even sprayed water out over the surface to show the colour and a fantastic rainbow in the water. THestories were interesting about the history of the area, the lake and the aboriginal legend.
Our friend who was with us was so interested in reading the information on the walls on the way out, that he got locked in, and we were half-way back up to the top before we noticed he was missing, and had to get the tour guide to go back and let him out. He was so engrossed with his reading, he hadn't even realised we had gone, and he was locked in!
