We've dined here three times. It's the most economical restaurant in the Italian Plaza and we love the food and staff. The portions are generous, especially the breakfast menu. I had Eggs Benedict and it's massive and delicious, but also a heart-attack waiting to happen! The lasagna was different from any I have had before, it had layer after layer of fresh pasta sheets with a little sauce between each -- I enjoyed it even though it was not super meaty like I normally would choose.

The staff at the restaurant are great. After our first visit, the lady recognized us with a friendly greeting. She even joined us for a chat about my mum's upcoming trip to Italy. This is a nice, laid back family-run restaurant where the pace is sedate and the food has home-made charm. It is not for the hurry-go-go crowd.

One look at their flier in my mailbox and I was thinking "Yeah right, what a scam..." but something made me email them anyways to find out about their "Free 4 week Fitness Program." I showed up at Glebe's Bicentennial Park for my boxing class expecting a hard-sell to sign up for something expensive. But no! Don got right to work training us. There were people of high fitness to first time, obese clients. He was able to handle us all and made everyone feel good and get a great workout. If you are unsure about starting a fitness program, DT Fitness is a great non-committal way to try out something new because there is no sales pressure. There is an opportunity to join paid groups after the free four weeks and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend them.

We stayed in a Pub-style room above the Bistro. It's a cheap as chips accommodation option, so our expectations were low. However, it's quite a charming place to stay. The rooms and two shared toilets/showers were well maintained and clean. There was a lounge area and TV, kitchen, and a great veranda overlooking the main street. Everyone from families with children to international backpackers were staying there and it was comfortable and relatively quiet despite being over a pub.

The Cathie Lesslie Bed & Breakfast is not your typical bed and breakfast. Cathie is a bit of a character. The rooms are quite nice and living in an old terrace in Glebe is a great experience for any traveller looking for an authentic Inner West Sydney experience. But don't expect to be catered to or given the "cutesy bed and breakfast routine" at this home. Lesslie does her own thing and has her own houseguests over regularly -- you really are just joining her in her home. The breakfast is good home-made fare and she regularly adds fresh flowers to the room which is a nice touch. She's also open to negotiating long-term stay rates.

We'd been watching the renovations of the historic Bellevue Cottage for over a year waiting for this cafe to open in one the best locations in Glebe. The cafe looks great and the outdoor dining with views of Blackwattle Bay and the Anzac Bridge are a real treat. Unfortunately the menu does not hold up. They've opted to go for more pretentious cafe food, rather than a nice community cafe feel. But the quality of the food does not hold up to the price. Even just stopping for a tea and muffin was disappointing because the muffin was dry and sour. I really hope that they refocus on their menu and start producing better tasting meals and snacks, because the location deserves it!

This is a great place on Glebe Point Road. The portions are quite large and the food is hot and flavourful. We were a table of four and a couple people requested substitutions to the items in their dishes and everything arrived perfectly. The service was very friendly and unobtrusive. It's a very comfy atmosphere to share a meal with friends. But I would not recommend it for a romantic meal.
