This review is for TD Wright Plumbing Services, Geelong VIC

verified email - 21 Apr 2013

When my hot water service stopped working I rang around trying to find a plumber, and was told by everyone I spoke to that I would need the whole system serviced and I would be looking at a very expensive job. A friend recommended TD Wright Plumbing and the job was done for the price of the call out and a small, inexpensive part. I highly recommend them for honest and quality service.

This review is for Elephant And Castle, Geelong VIC

I love seeing Darren Lyon's photography all over the walls of Elephant and Castle since he took over ownership. The meals are still really good, and the staff are friendly. A great spot for a drink in the beer garden, or to hear some live music.

This review is for Chook 'N Hook, Belmont VIC

I would have to agree with the previous review on Chook and Hook, they do amazing chips and gravy! Being so close to Kmart and Coles, it is a convenient spot to stop in to and grab some take away. I often get the chips and gravy with chicken. I have tried their salads and didn't think much of them, but the chicken dim sims are delicious. I wouldn't rave about the service, but the food has been good enough to keep me coming back.

This review is for Boss Hogs Charcoal BBQ Cafe, Newtown VIC

I use Boss Hogs for take away rather than dine in. I have been going there for years, so have seen the place change hands. The previous owners used to make the best salads in Geelong, but they aren't very exciting now. They do awesome chicken, chips and gravy now though. I often get the vegetables too. I always have a chat with the owner if he is working, and he is so entertaining that I usually leave sore from laughing. Great for an easy meal, especially if you aren't on a diet because you usually end up eating way too much!

This review is for Ripper Roasts, Geelong VIC

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

I would have to say that my favorite meal is a roast, and Ripper Roasts are great. I have only eaten in once, I much prefer the take away option. When you do eat in make sure you are hungry, because they are very big meals. When I get take away I usually order large because any left overs are delicious reheated the next day for lunch. You get to choose from chicken, beef, lamb, pork, schnitzel or vegetable packs, and there are still more options available! I love gravy, and sometimes they give me an extra tub to take with my meal at no cost. I also recommend their sticky ribs, they are amazing! The staff are super friendly, and are always smiling even when it gets busy and they seem to be working a production line. Great value for money. I love this place.

This review is for Panache Cafe And Creperie, Belmont VIC

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

I have been to Panache in Belmont a few times with my friend who is in a wheel chair. She has not only found it accessible, but they also let us use the back door to get in so we don't have to make our way past the other diners. The owner always comes over for a chat, and they are happy if we want to invent our own crepes instead of sticking to the menu. I really enjoy the food and service. Only complaints I have are I find the chairs very uncomfortable and there is an overall cramped feel. Otherwise really good!

This review is for Madisson Lounge, Geelong VIC

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

Madisson Lounge is my favorite cafe spot in Westfield. The owners are always so friendly and stop for a chat if I'm having a meal or drink outside. Their biscuits are amazing, about double the size you get anywhere else. I have had after work drinks there with friends, and you forget you are in a shopping complex. Ask them to whip you up a cocktail! They always have pretty groovy music playing, or the latest sporting event on the screen. I highly recommend them.

This review is for The City Quarter, Geelong VIC

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

The City Quarter is located in a building at the end of Cunningham Pier, and the views are fantastic. You can't help but feel relaxed when you are there. I like to go early on in the night while it is fairly quiet and you can relax with a glass of bubbly and get your pick of comfy spots to sit. It has a classy feel, and everyone seems to make the effort to get a little dressed up. Great place to start the night off.

This review is for The Bucket List, Bondi Beach NSW

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

The Bucket List is one cool venue. We went there for a function, and were all impressed with the service, the venue space and mostly the beautiful location. The venue is very relaxed and quirky. Different function areas have a different vibe, and it appealed to our large gathering of mixed ages and tastes. They catered for our needs perfectly. I would highly recommend The Bucket List for functions, I couldn't say a bad thing about them!

This review is for Black Hatt, Geelong VIC

verified email - 19 Apr 2013

The Black Hatt has changed a lot since it's days as the old De La Ville. I went to see a friend's band play on the weekend, and was surprised by the new look. There is now a new beer garden that opens the pub right up. Combined with a facelift inside, there is a more modern feel now. They are one of the few pubs left still featuring live bands, and it was a fun atmosphere inside. Worth having a look.
