We went here on fathers day so was expecting it to be busy, we could not book which wasn't good. However walked in and got a seat with a highchair straight away. We waited and waited and then thought maybe it wasn't table service so my partner went to order only to be told someone will be with you soon. Waited and waited. Finally orded Food & Coffee at same time. Coffee's came all out sepratly one by one and the baby chino was last (so imagine his face when everyone else was drinking but him!) - they were all just warm.

Food was very tasty but not worth the price. Took forever to come out, if they were smart enough should have taken another coffee order.

We travelled to go here as someone recommended it, wasnt worth the drive.

Firstly forget about getting a table on the weekend without having to queue as it's always slammed. Best time to visit is a weekday afternoon. The place is huge and inner city funky, a bit out if step with North Melbourne. I know people rave about the coffee but in all honesty I can't - it's good but not that good. The food is good, pretty expensive and they can be rather inflexible with special requirements but I think it depend on who you get as your server as some are sweet and some not so sweet!

I have been here a couple of times, spread over a few years and have enjoyed it on every occasion! The staff are always friendly, and despite not taking bookings and being quite a busy café/restaurant, we always seem to be seated efficiently. The coffee is delicious, and well made, and the hot chocolates taste like actual chocolate and cocoa, not the sweet fake stuff you often find. I had lunch there on the weekend (April 2013) and had the yummiest Moroccan lamb shoulder. They also have a great range of brunch meals. It's a really funky place which feels a bit displaced from the busy city. It's a great place for a weekend afternoon.

They have recently changed chefs, and whilst the coffee, waitstaff and food is still good quality - the menu style is noticeably different.
Gone are the iconic shady deal and counter bid. The new menu is slightly more varied with british through to mediterranean influences.
The standard eggs with sides is available - though it would be good to see more side options - please include standard side options like baked beans and mushrooms!
Our table had the Fried duck eggs w morcilla & smoked bone marrow it was served with bread & HP sauce, in mini cast iron pan ($18.50) and the Ancient Grain Salad (essentially a mix of fancy grains like freekeh, cracked wheat, cous cous, barley etc) flecked with pomegranite, hung yoghurt, walnuts & a few batons of parsnip ($17).
Both dishes were reasonable in terms of quality, creativity and execution. However it was not what we had initially expected and come for. The general style of the menu was not to our taste, and the limited number of menu options, did not help.
The coffee & atmosphere is perfect however. I would definitely come back for mid-morning/afternoon coffee, but not for the food.

Coffee is great, food is fresh and very tasty especially if you fancy poached eggs. With what they offer they do it very well.
Just a little wait on weekends but I'm very impressed and would happily come back. The setting is cool but not pretentious. Highly recommended!

Delicious. The food is creative, well executed and well priced. I had pork belly on a crepe with a black cabbage salad for lunch. It was $17 and beautifully presented.
Coffee is great. They roast their own beans here and the baristas on duty are competition level in terms of their skill.
They also have a lovely sunroom/courtyard.

Good food (creative without being too adventurous or bizarre, good quality)
Pleasant surrounds. It has the lofty airiness and casual feel of a warehouse, without the lack of light that is noticeable in other warehouse style places (ie. 7 seeds & st ali). Also has a good number of individual tables, for more intimate/private discussions. Pleasant staff.

Great Food. Great Service. Great Menu.

This is a very busy cafe and you might have to wait half an hour to get a table but it's more than worth it.

I loved the Elvis Presley - Banana and Peanut Butter french toast. yummmmmmo.

Given we had a large brunch party (12) the Manager and staff were exceptionally obliging and helpful! A great place for a lazy Sunday brunch with quality food and a great ambience.
