The Geelong technician arrived in the afternoon to set up my new laptop. He said the quickest and cheapest way was to clone all my old laptop info onto the new laptop and to take away the laptops and do it overnight. I asked when he would be back and he responded that he'd be back between 9 and 10 am the next morning. At 10.15 am I called the customer service number and was told that I was clearly mistaken and that they would pass on the message to the technician that I had called. At 11 am I called customer service back and wanted them to call the technician while I waited on the phone to find out when he would actually be showing up. I was told that this would not be happening and when I asked why it was not possible, the customer service guy's response was that we don't do anything for A..HOLES! Stunned, I asked him what he had called me and he repeated the word. I asked the guy what his name was and he said a name that I couldn't understand and hadn't heard before. I asked if he could spell it and his response was "no, I will not be repeating it, you PR..K!' I hung up on the customer service rep but was very concerned as both my laptops were with somebody that I could not contact. Finally, at around 1 pm the technician arrived. He apologized for what had happened with customer service but explained that he had no relationship with them as he was just a subcontractor, not an employee. Instead of handing over the laptops completed, the technician started doing work on them in my home. At one stage I had to wake him as he was sitting behind my laptop snoring!!! Then he charged me $237 with no explanation for what the charge was for, or for how many hours work. The new laptop was working so began working on it for the next few days. However, as soon as I went back to the old laptop to check something, it refused to open and went into an endless loop. It is now with a reputable repairer to fix. Use Australian Computer Doctors at your own risk... Good luck.

Approximate cost: $237

It took 2 hours to fix a very simple system on my computer. Charged me $300 for two hours work. Totally screwed up my email system which worked perfectly well before. Lost all stored emails. Refused to fix it, and said I had to pay more money to them to fix their mistake. Hung up on me twice refusing to fix up their mistake. Admitted they didn't know how to fix up their mistake, refused to refund any money. But I still had to pay them. Please people DO NOT go near these people. Take your computer to a shop instead where a repairman has to be accountable for their mistakes or inadequacies.

We are defending legitimate, hard working, Australian businesses from rude, aggressive, and uneducated consumers who use their lack of knowledge as an excuse to put down the trained professionals attempting to assist them.

So why are you spending so much time defending your business, instead of doing your business? Is your business having problems?

It's hard to believe that someone would ask that as a genuine question. It's even harder to believe that one would assert that there is a correlation between ignoring slanderous comments and the success of a business. Surely, if anything, the relationship would go the other way would it not?

Firstly, our response to your question would simply be "pride". We are proud of the service that we offer. We are immensely proud of the awards we have won and the recognition we have received for our customer service. We are proud of the dedication of our technicians, who continue to learn, study and re-skill to be the very best in an always evolving and changing industry. We are proud that we help the little people out there who need assistance with their computers; as the smiles and gratitude we receive from such customers are worth more to us than a fat cheque from a faceless corporate client.

So essentially, you have taken to an online forum to post a factually inaccurate account of your experience, in an attempt to influence the decision making process of others in relation to the repair of their computers. In fact, you implored them not to use our service by saying "do not go near these people". Now, we have already established that what you have said is utter nonsense and essentially a load of drivel. That has been proven conclusively in our discussion above. Its surprising that you do not realise this, but responding to customers online posts is very much a part of us "doing" business. If we had not responded, people may have actually believed your comments to be true. They now know otherwise.

As a business, we are essentially obligated to reply to posts that you make. However, as a customer you have the option to walk away at any time. Possibly something you should have done a while back. You see, only someone who has never had something in their life worth defending, would ask the question that you have. I cannot even begin to imagine how sad our lives would be if we did not have such pride in the work that we do each and every day. If you truly needed us to answer why we take the time to defend our business against highly inaccurate and misleading remarks, then I genuinely pity you.

I had some viruses removed from my notebook with no fuss, one of which was the goodle redirecting virus which wouldn't allow me to view pages on the net (it would direct me elsewhere). My laptop was back to functioning at its best and I would highly recommend them
