Great size meals, lovely area inside or out. Food is to a very high standard and staff are nice, helpful and friendly.
Whether it be for a coffee or a wine with some snacks, or a meal, I recommend Brown Cow

Approximate cost: $18

I live very close to brown cow and often find myself popping down to meet a friend for a quick coffee.
I do generally tend to stick to just that though as I find it a little overrated. Lots of Hampton and Brighton types like to go and sit outside in their 'finest gear' to be seen.
If you are ordering I would recommend the Calamari Salad which is always delicious and the vegie pizza which is also quite nice.
They do make quite a good coffee despite being slightly overpriced

A group of us decided to try somewhere different and for me it meant a trek half way across town (I'm in the East). So I was hoping it would be good! We caught up at the Brown Cow for a late breakfast which ended up turning into a sort of brunch.

The place is near a train station and that Sunday morning there were a heap of cyclists that had stopped by this place to have a break. Most of the seats were taken outside which was actually fine because inside was reasonably empty when we arrived and there was ample room to seat our group.

While we were waiting for the others to arrive (some got lost!!) the waitresses were a bit pushy and kept coming up to our table every 5 minutes wondering when we were going to order. To stop this we ended up ordering a few drinks whilst waiting for the others to arrive.

Most of us ordered a big breakfast or a brunch style item which consisted of eggs, bacon, toast, sausages, tomato etc for the big breakfast or for those not wanting that a large foccacia - in my case salmon with eggs benedict.

The serving sizes were good and enough to keep everyone filled for the morning and the coffees and hot chocolates were a good size.

The quality and taste of the dishes are in line with most other places and good quality. Whilst it's much better than say a breakfast at Ikea, you couldn't go past Ikea because the breakfast of eggs, mushroom, tomato, hashbrown is around $2! This place was $19 for the big breakfast. My eggs Benedict with salmon was a good size and the taste was good. The eggs were not overdone and the salmon just lightly warmed so that you don't ruin the taste of warm eggs with ice cold salmon!

There are also healthy alternatives, such as Bircher muesli (one of my friends is a fan of it, but I can't get past how awful it looks!!) and plain eggs or porridge.

Overall a good place to meet and chat, so long as you order something to keep the waitresses at bay!

Fairly average. There are definitely better places in Hampton to try. We had brunch here and as someone who has an allergy to eggs, i felt pretty limited choice wise, service was quite slow and waitresses seemed a little disinterested

My first time here and it was a good one! I love how their coffees come out with a little cow dusting on top. Tried their baked beans and pumpkin polenta square which was amazing! Best baked beans I've had in ages. Price wise was pretty reasonable considering the amount of food that came out.

My partner had been here before, and really wanted to pay a visit with me as well. So, we went along on a Saturday night, and were able to get a table when we booked an hour beforehand. Great start!

The food it self was just OK, in my opinion. I had a gourmet beef burger, and was disappointed. The pattie had little flavour other than mince meat, and I'm not overly thrilled with shoestring fries. It was all 'as advertised' on the menu, but as I say, it didn't fill me with joy. More-so my choice that probably caused my lack of satisfaction.

Dessert was lovely. My partner had the Apple Crumble (Specials Board), and I had a massive slice of Trio Mousse cake. Slightly pricey, but they were very-much enjoyed.

The service was a stand-out. The young lady who looked after us was more-than attentive, friendly, and had a passion for chocolate (which appeals to my weakness, also). We felt at home as soon as we were seated, thanks to her lovely attitude and care. (We were at Table #2 on 14-Apr-2012, if the owners want to recognise her good work).

Would I go back? Yes, but I'd try something more adventurous than the burger. In a competitive area like Hampton, these guys stand up well.

They make an awesome coffee and the staff look after children so well with crayons and coloring paper. I suggest you try them

Although the quality of the food is quite good, some of the desserts are really overpriced. I payed $9 for two scoops of chocolate icecream once, and a friend of mine payed $8 for a tiny slice of cake.

Great place to meet on a cold winters day in front of open fire place. Great Cake selection. Has a big deck area to enjoy the sun in summer. Meals are beautiful and reasonably priced.

Great place for an evening coffee and cake or drink or two in the sun. The food is reasonably priced but not anything to write home about. I organised a function in the back room last year and the service was exceptional.
