Really delicious food, absolutely brilliant takeaway service, all packed into a nice strong custom gift type bag. Takeaway prices are definitely reasonable for what you get, and every order is generously given a few spring rolls for free.
If you'd rather dine in the restaurant then prepare yourself for a treat, the presentation of the dishes is incredible and generously portioned. Although the restaurant is relatively small, there is plenty of room on each table and the ambiance is quite romantic.

Just got takeaway from this place tonight. It's conveniently located across the street from Edithvale station. We ordered Cashew nut stir fries with beef and Pad Thai. The stir fries had generous amount of beef in it. The Pad Thai was OK, a little bit of chilli would have made it taste better.

This restaurant is more expensive than most Thai places but it's well worth the extra $'s and deserves its rating as the the most popular in the area but you will need to have a booking most nights.
Everything I've had here is exceptional especially the vegetable green curry and the pla choo chee

I am very disappointed this is my first negative review on WOMO. Living around the corner and hearing all the positive comments about Brown Rice, we went with high expectations for the first time last night.
The service was above average because we had water on table without asking and the orders were taken soon and food came quickly at 6pm in an almost empty restaurant. The waiting staff were very pleasant.
Quality-wise the best thing was the authentic decorations and cutlery and the artistry put into the plate up.
Our satay beef came out barely above room temperature and with very little satay sauce and lots of decorative lettuce and ornamental noodles to make it look like it was worth $20. Similar story with the seafood pad thai. Very little seafood, with the calamari rings almost raw. The underlying noodles of the pad thai were quite good although there wasn't much hidden under the obligatory blanket of arty lettuce and inedible yellow noodle strands.
The coconut rice was nice, but a bit rich at $4 per person.
The restaurant did fill up quickly, and we felt quite comfortable in the middle bogan crowd with lots of kids. Maybe we've been spoilt by the good inexpensive restaurants in our old stomping ground of Glen Waverley and Melbourne CBD. We need to understand that we're now in a captive market area with little variety or competition. We will not be going back to Brown Rice.

Very efficient and beautifully presented food at very reasonable prices! Thoroughly enjoyed- how ever my husband was overwhelmed with the selection any chance of obtaining a menu so when we go on Nov.10th at 6.30 he will know what he wants to order and won't hold us up!

Went there once and found it such a good experience that we've been back every month. One of the best authentic Thai food in Melbourne. They say you eat with your eyes. You sure do here. Their food presentation is so beautiful it increases your appetite. Service from staff are friendly and they go beyond your expectations. Ordering the mixed entree gives you the opportunity to try their variety of entrees. The curries were a good serve, value for money. To top it all. Our grandchild ordered her dinner and it came out so pretty that she even eating the fruit decorations.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I have been too. The food is always very well presented and the prices are very reasonable, although high for Thai food. The only issue I have is that there is a lot of walk though for takeaway food which is picked up at the very rear of the restaurant. It means lots of foot traffic through the entire length of the restaurant.

I go regularly to this place and they never fail to impress. The service is one of a kind, the ambiance and food is 5 star and while the prices are a little higher, you definitely get what you pay for. Very happy to recommend this place.

A busy restaurant. Food was delicious but service was appauling on the Saturday night we went. We went with two regular diners who said they had never seen it so bad. Other reviewers have stated the opposite so I guess it was just a really bad night for waitstaff! We did not see a menu for over half an hour, had to ask for water twice and then it never got refilled, had to ask for the bill twice. Waiters zoomed past our corner table constantly missing our strained necks as we tried to catch their attention. Avoid the corner table in front of the bright television - blinding and distracting. I suspect that takeaway may be the best option.

This that restaurant is our family's choice for birthday's and other celebrations. Never lets us down. I took my sister recently and she thought the food was excellent. It is always busy so its best to book a table. Lots of choice on the menu to choose from...Coconut rice is great and all of the fish and prawn dishes are excellent. If you want it a bit more or less spicy they will do this for you also. Nice surroundings and restaurant is neat and tidy. Staff are very helpful and polite.
