10 reviews about Choice

I have subscribed to the CHOICE website; I mainly subscribed to help navigate the plethora of baby products on offer and choose the safest and best value for money items.

It was a great help in choosing a babyseat; I was looking at a seat at $400+ yet the seat that scored highest for safety etc. was a $150 chair stocked at BigW! We've been very happy with the seat.

The reviews done are excellent, and really allow the consumer to investigate which product is best for their circumstances. Choice publish their top choices, but also allow users to compare all the brands tested and show results for every category/facet tested. I've often found the cheapest item in a list is still good enough for our needs even if it doesn't make the top choice list; quite often the cheapest significantly outperforms the mid-price options.

The only downsides are that quite often you can't find a product review that interests you; or the reviews are a few years old. The subscription also renews itself quarterly automatically; it's ok value, but since my big buying spree with the baby I haven't reallly used it that much, so I'll be cancelling it now that I don't need it.

Overall it's a great tool and worth paying for independent, methodical advice which helps to save you money.

The other issues I have found with Choice is that they don't review every brand and it seems there is a bias towards cheaper products. The seem to review the cheaper ones to compare to the expensive ones and miss the mid-range.

This is a great website that reviews different products. I come here when I am buying an expensive product. They give great non-biased reviews.

This is the first place I come to when I want to buy anything. They are independent, reasonably priced and you really get reviews that are based on fact rather than just brand name / marketing and features that may or may not be relevant to you. Highly recommend Choice as the first place to look BEFORE you purchase anything. I don't subscribe to the magazine but I subscribe online and it is fantastic

Fantastic service! I always check for information here before buying a big item, and they've helped me with a washing machine, dryer, car and lots of smaller things as well. It is great to know that you are getting the opinions of other real people, and not mouthpieces of companies! They also provide points of view on current issues (such as organic food) and reviews of a range of products that you wouldn't have time to test yourself, such as shampoos and lipsticks. Sometimes the information is a little subjective, reflecting the values of the reviewers, but I can live with that!

I have been a member for a while now and it's excellent when purchasing anything big (as you know you will be getting a quality product) and there's some smaller things such as the shampoos survey which are really interesting. It's unbiased so you know that they are being honest. They are also always campaining for better consumer rights too which is another plus and will help you if you need it.

Will always refer to this excellent source of information when making a large purchase or safety conscious purchase. Easy to understand and informative articles that get to the crux of the issues.

Choice is an incredible service that I now can't live without. Terrific value too. I subscribe to access all the information in the website, as well as receive the monthyl magazines. The only issue I find is the types of products reviewed are very much geared to the 2.3 kids and a mortgage market - whitegoods, kids' bikes, etc. But they are constantly increasing their breadth and that may improve with time. I would suggest if you are planning a major purchase to check the website - and dont hesitate to subscribe to get access to the review they have done if its there.

Approximate cost: $30

Choice offer completely unbiased research, facts and advice. Some of their articles are free otherwise you can subscribe and access all articles. They have subscriptions to suit most people ranging from online access to magazines. They cover a huge range of topics from appliances to telecommunications and finance..they include prices, the low down and much more! Choice has helped me enormously when shopping for appliances for our new home. They charge per quarter and while I only access the website on the odd occasion the value I have received has been so much more! These days, you really can't afford to go shopping without prior knowledge.

Approximate cost: $18.95
