Terrible don't buy
I did not have my fairytale experience with Fairytale boutique that is for sure!! This shop was my first stop. I didn't know procedure or process, so I took their advice as gospel. The consultant they assigned me with was not very forthcoming or smiley or even excited, she was almost lacking any customer service or excitement, she said choose 6 dresses, and don't take too long. I didn't like any, so I struggled, although she did mention the one on display to try. When I liked that dress, I asked how long can I place on hold as I wanted to shop around as this was my first stop, they said they cannot hold for even a small period of time as they don't hold and this particular dress will sell out completely and they won't be getting it again. So initially, I was forced to place a deposit. So this is my first try on a size 12 so it is a little hard to see the fit as that is not my size, so you have to try to imagine it. I then go ahead with a deposit, didn't realise the deposit was 60%, so I called my fiancé at the time to ask to put more money in our account or I will lose the chance of this dress. SO the pressure was on. I had to deposit $1600 on the spot and they also didn't tell me the extra credit card fees til after I tapped which was an extra $300. They took my measurements in the lobby rather than the fitting room. She said a size 8, but I am a 10, she said bridal dresses are different. I also asked what if it fits different, they said they do alterations but never mentioned price, although she said can be around $400 which I thought was pretty ok. It was just all rushed. They said the dress can take 9 months to receive. This is after I placed the order. I tried this on the first week on January 2025. being they rushed me, I called a few months later to check if the same dress is available in all ivory without the blush, to check if it suited better, and they said they hadn't even ordered my dress yet, so what was the hurry? I felt a little scammed already.
I at they stage feel underwhelmed, I chased up the dress around October and they said it will come in November. I finally call in November they said it will come in December, my wedding was January 2026 so I was panicking. finally they call me and expect me to drop everything on their terms for try on, I try it on, and the dress was so tight, that the seamstress said you can't gain any weight in the next 7 weeks or there is nothing they can do. It is bizarre as I was 5 kg heavier at the time of measurements so this dress size was wrong to begin with so I had to lose more weight, then after alterations, she said it was $1200 for alterations, this was disgusting, highway robbery, they sell cheaper dresses and stingy on alterations. I am incredibly appalled by this, but the problem is, your stuck and you have to pay it or you lose and there is no time to find another dress. then I said it needs more breast padding so they charged me $30 extra for the padding.
Then I said the tussle isn't holding so they charged me $70 per button so there was 3 to place it on.
I then asked can I have a final fitting after the 2nd alteration as I want to be sure the dress fits, they said NO! you pick it up and that is it, so again I am in distraught thinking they needed to alter this twice and now this is it?? I forced them to allow me to try on and still the dress wasn't right and kept falling down, then I asked why haven't. you shown me how to pin the tale up so I can show my daughter they put a button in the middle of my back to hang it, I was about to cry and she was so abrupt and said you asked for it, I said no I paid $70 x 3 buttons to do this on the bottom half or it covers the entire dress. she was so upset with me, as this treatment was expected the entire time by them.
So now I am at my wedding, dress is falling off me, and those silly little bows they put with 3 buttons, not one of them held on and it kept falling and dragging and looked so terrible in photos it was a whole bunched up mess from behind, I keep falling overt stepping on it and everyone was trying to hook it up and it kept falling so all in all I spent $4000 on something that was PRETTY PATHETIC and advise no-one to go there, their attitude stinks, their scamming alteration prices are also a scam. Terrible experience
