Best bakery in Ballarat! Although a bit pricey, it is worth it for the amazing quality! I would recommend the vanilla slice, cheese and onion sausage rolls and the sourdough!

Approximate cost: $7

This is my favorite place to go to escape the everyday hassle of the rat race in life, i love the hot drinks that they serve as well as their great pastries and other bits and pieces that are delicious.

Great bakery food eg, pies, pasties, cakes etc. Also, as good a sandwich as i have had. Very pleasant staff. Most convenient place to grab a good coffee!

Favourite place in Ballarat to grab a coffee - only drive thru coffee I would recommend, the staff seem genuinely happy to serve you which is always an added bonus!

Interesting bakery concept as it has a drive through. We've regularly visited for coffee which is good, and I've had a Bolognese pie which was interesting!

The other bakery items we've bought from there have been good with the quality as you would expect from a bakery.

One small point - if you park out the front near the drive through lane, expect to get caught if the line is long as you can't reverse into the line-up of cars as there is no room. You may be waiting a while for someone to give you a break!

Approximate cost: $5

This bakery has impressed me on a number of dine in occasions! They have a great deal going where you get a pie, can of soft drink and a donut for $5. The pie actually has meat in it that looks appealing to eat and isn't a miserable half cm thick! My partner really rates them. Being a vegetarian i enjoy the spinach and cheese quiches, and asparagus quiche. They are really delicious and eggy! This is a great bakery, and it even has a drive thru!!

Approximate cost: $10

Golden Nugget is ok but their standard bread loaves are the usual boring cotton wool stuff that you would pay about $1 for at Aldi or some fruit shops. You would pay $3 here. Cakes are ok but Rosenhart's (across the street) is cheaper and of at least equivalent standard. Golden Nugget has plenty of space to sit and the ladies who work there are friendly and helpful.

We totally agree with your comment about the bread. Unfortunately, these days price has little to do with actual quality. :(

I go to the Golden Nugget Bakery quite often for a quick lunch or sometimes for a hot chocolate and vanilla slice in the afternoon. The drive through it great for cold wet ballarat days, and they have a coffee card which is great!
